They won the B consolation trophy-in'the Strathroy tournament at the beginning- of January and they won the .B championship trophy in the Mount Forest tournament. In the Mount Forest tourney they were put into the B side by losing their first game against the host team in a shoot out, but won the rest of their games. Playoffs have started and the girls are proving themselves to be contenders. Brussels placed seventh in tier two of the Western Ontario Girls Hockey League Bantam division. This meant playing second- place Strathroy in the first round of playoffs. Games throughout the season with Strathroy were very close and the series could have gone either way. Brussels won the first game in Brussels and lost the second game in Strathroy. They headed down to Strathroy for the do-or-die game three and came out victorious. This put them in the Bantam C division semi-finals against third- place Glencoe. Games with Glencoe were one- goal differences during the regular season, which meant this too could be a close series. On Feb. 29, Brussels headed to Glencoe for game one and were down 2 - 0 but things turned around halfway through the second period. With goals from Chelsey McLellan, Pam Cousins, Michelle Cousins and Jory Uyl, Brussels won 4-2. Game two was played on Saturday, March 6 in Brussels. A loss meant heading back to Glencoe for game three. A beautiful backhanded goal from Lindsay Watson, assisted by Pam Cousins and Ashley Sholdice in the first period gave Brussels a 1-0 lead. Brussels didn't let go and won the series in two games straight. Brussels will play either North East Lambton or Mitchell for the Western Ontario Girls Hockey League Bantam C championship.
