Discussion ensued on putting down a new kitchen floor and buying new pots. The April event is Monday, April 19 at North Street United Church, Goderich. The next meeting is Thursday, March 25 at 2 p.m. The Dramatized gospel reading from Luke 13: 31-35 was read by Wyatt Bearss and Rev. Bannerman. The teachers and children went down .to Sunday school. The lectionary reading was from Genesis 15: 1-12 followed by the Responsive Psalm 27 with the choir singing the refrain. Rev. Bannerman's message to the adults was When Jesus Was Angry. Why did Jesus call Herod a fox? Fox refers to a cunning but weak ruler and was often used as a contrast with a majestic animal like the lion. In calling Herod a fox, Jesus gives vent to his own feelings about the cruel and crafty ruler. Jesus is undeterred by Herod's threat . and uses remarkable language to express his calm determination to continue His work, one day at a time, until the finish.
