Boonstoppel hosts Walkerburn THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, MARCH 4, 2004. PAGE 9. On a sunny Friday, Feb. 27, Audrey Boonstoppel welcomed members of the Walkerburn Club into her home. Jacquie McKee was in charge of the meeting. Betty Archambault read the minutes of the last meeting, followed by roll call, which was a bird seen at feeders recently, or one they were waiting to see in the spring. Bernice Norman gave the treasurer's report. The next meeting is to be at Vera Penfound's on March 24. Jacquie McKee will be in charge of lunch. The Club then viewed some greeting cards that Mrs. Boonstoppel has made. She taught everyone how to 'make them. They spent the afternoon learning a new craft they can do at home. After everyone had completed a card, they were served a lunch of fresh fruit, fruit bread and cheese. During the social hour, a discussion was held regarding Auburn's 150th celebration and the club's upcoming 85th reunion. Cook's message was A Memory Building Community. Spiritual readings were Psalm 91 and Luke 4: I-13. This past Sunday was communion Sunday. The Auburn Horticultural Society will be meeting on March 8 at the Auburn Community Hall at 7:30 p.m. They will be working on flags and organizing the summer's work. Everyone is welcomed and new members are encouraged. The Society is looking for suggestions on how to beautify Auburn for the 150th celebration this year. Ideas and input will be greatly appreciated.
