June Robinson. They opened the
meeting with the pledge and this was
followed by roll call.
Each member had brought a piece
of sewing equipment and told
everyone what the particular item
was used for.
June brought out many different
samples of fabric. Members viewed
and felt different fabrics such as
denim, cotton, linen, wool, silk and
various knits. They discussed how
fabric was made and whether it was
woven or knit. Woven fabric will
unravel and knit fabric has to be
stretched to show the stitches.

Celebrating 100 days
Hullett Central Public School is among many schools
throughout the area that has celebrated 100 days of
school. Students in Grades 1 and 2 celebrated Day 100
with games and crafts. They each got a piece of paper with
100 squares on it and wrote their a letter from their name
in each square. After, they coloured them and put them
together on hall wall, making one huge paper quilt. Ross
Edwards uses many different colours to make his piece
special. (Elyse DeBruyn photo)
