Although last Friday was bright and sunny, heavy winds
covered area roads in snow, making driving dangerous and
very icy. On Hwy 4, north of Blyth, two cars collided due to
the snow covered roads. Fortunately, no one was seriously
injured in the crash, but traffic was backed up for a short

Feb. 13's blowing snow kept
Huron OPP busy. Starting at about 9
a.m. and continuing until roughly 9
p.m. officers investigated 21 crashes
all across the county.
Five people were injured and
taken to hospital where they were
treated for minor injuries and
released.
"Many of these crashes could have
been avoided if people had slowed
down and taken their time," said Sr.
Const. Don Shropshall.
On Feb. 13 Huron OPP, assisted
by the Drug Enforcement Section,
conducted a search of a residence on
Saltford Road in Ashfield-
Colborne-Wawanosh.
