Travelling has been the name of
the game for many around Walton.
Ed McClure says Costa Rica's a
great place to go. He was away two
weeks and was in the Capos-Manuel
Antonio area. He enjoyed great
weather, great food, good water and
a good time.
He reports he prefers
transportation with motors, and
horses are not at the top, of his
favourite things list.
Murray and Sherry McCall went
to England and on to France. While
in England with daughter Marci,
they were working on Marci's
summer wedding plans. Travelling
over to France and Courcheval, they
met up with daughter Shawna and
Doug and Jaedon with some of
Doug's family and enjoyed a couple
of days of skiing.
Marci and John joined them as
well and they had a great time
except Sherry put a scare into all
when she had a serious fall on the
slopes, the last day. She suffered
some bumps and bruising but was
able- to fly home and is feeling
better.
Travelling to another cold place
were Graeme and Helen Craig along
with Monique Baan to the capital
city of Ottawa. Graeme and
Monique were involved in some
seminars and "chaperone" Helen
enjoyed the sites and shopping
Ottawa has to offer.
On the off-time they enjoyed
Ottawa's winter festival Winterlude.
They enjoyed seeing the fabulous
ice sculptures done by carvers from
all over the world.
It was very cold and while
This Sunday will be the Sacrament
of Communion. March 5 is the
World Day of Prayer service at
Anglican Church, Brussels.
There were 14 children present to
listen to the Time for the Young at

Rev. Joan Tuchlinsky showed
them a green plant and asked them
what they thought it needed to keep
growing. They replied water and

viewing the carvings, they had
dinner together one night and had a
great time.
Even colder, is Matt Lee and
Cheryl Thompson's trip to North
Bay. Along with Larry Dalrymple
and Malcolm Gulutzen and a .few
others, they enjoyed ice fishing but
had little luck in catching anything.
They report a good time together
anyway.
Away to the U.S. and Indianapolis
was Brett Lee. He was attending the
North American PowerSport Dealer
Association Expo. It is the biggest
show of its kind in North America.
Brett played in the Canada versus
U.S.A. Invitational hockey
tournament for the Moto Sport
Industry.
Bruce and Katrin Godkin also
attended the show to gather
information for their G-Force
Trackside Race Service Support.
It was off to Sarnia on the
weekend for the Brussels Midget
Girls Hockey team. Coach Jim
McDonald reports they were playing
in the International Silver Stick
tournament. They started to play on
Friday and tied Woodstock 0-0,
defeated Kitchener 4-0, defeated
Clearview 2-0 and met up with
Waterloo in the semi-final game. A
great game was played but the girls
lost 2-1 in overtime.
Walton's Sarah McDonald is on
the team and had a great weekend.
The Walton Inn said goodbye to
cook Christine Brenke a week or so
ago and welcome Brenda Finlayson
to the Inn. Good luck to Christine in
her new venture and good cooking
to Brenda.
We wish Ian Wilbee a speedy
recovery after having eye surgery in
London. Brian reports he's doing
well.
Enjoying an afternoon sleigh ride
at the Shortreed farm were Neil and
Marie. McGavin and families. The
children enjoyed being pulled on the
toboggans behind the sleigh, riding
the horse and enjoying hot dogs over
an open fire. Hosts Rob and Andrea
Shortreed treated the McGavin
family to a great day.

She then asked what keeps people
growing in their faith. They learn
from stories in the Bible, attending
Sunday school and church.
Rev. Joan showed them a banner
she had been given that depicted
some of her favourite signs of faith.
The Sacrament of Baptism was

their 65th wedding anniversary on

Having a houseful of guests on
Sunday were Dan and-Sherri Taylor
following the baptism of son, Owen
Daniel. Attending the luncheon were
great-grandparents McLachlan and
great-grandma Jean Buchanan,
grandparents Jack and Mary Helen
McLachlan and Sue, Carol, Gus,

front of the sanctuary and their
daughter Emma helped pour the
water into the baptismal font. Baby
Owen smiled throughout the baptism
while his extended family and
church family watched.
The choir sang the anthem 0 God
of Love. The scripture reader was
Heidi McClure.
Rev. Joan's reflection was the
grace of baptism. In baptism, people
have been promised that God is with
them and part of their everyday life.
As they grow in their faith they need
to be grounded in their faith in God's
love. They have the ability to reach
out to help others.
The offering was collected by
Graeme Craig and Fred McClure.
