They are hungry for meaning and purpose and a connection with the divine. But they are not finding it in churches: rather they make a clear distinction between religion and spirituality. MaFor these people, religion is about people they don't know, who are not very welcoming to newcomers, who sit in hard pews and only think about their faith on Sunday for an hour or so. To these seekers, spirituality, is about tapping into the universal depths of the soul. The growth of spirituality in the workplace should give us the motivation to share our faith with all the people we know and love, so that they too can have all joy and peace in believing that we have. Mr. Hewitt, in his book, writes that the message of Jesus is the "antidote for the alienation of the modern world, and every believer Continued from page 2 made in front of the many faithful diners at the Branch. In their final gesture of support for the branch, the last-serving president of the Ladies Auxiliary, Helen Dobson, presented Branch president Rick McDonald and first vice-president Norm Dobson with a cheque representing the remaining funds of the auxiliary account. We need to demonstrate our faith in: our words, our deeds. our attitude. There is a great need for people to speak about their faith with the same zeal they have for hockey, .football, and the movies. There is a dire need for people to search their Bibles with the same eagerness they have when searching through the TV Guide. The time is right for us to speak a world of hope to a hurting world. pray that today you will consider what kind of witness you are being. Are you fishing for people? Or are you spending time tending the aquarium? Are you telling people about Christ? Or are you burying your head in the sand out of fear? Are you restoring people to life and health? Or are you an embarrassed believer? laps. The size preferred by the caregivers are that they reach from waist to floor, to keep the legs warm, and be wide enough to tuck under each side of the legs. Check out The Citizen's WEBSITE at www.northhuron.on.ca Try talking about your faith with other Christians. Get comfortable telling others how much God's love means to you and why it matters at all. Speaking with Christians can help you get the language straight and give you practice before you speak to _a nonbeliever. Be aware of opportune moments. Listen to the situations people are facing. Why did God let this tragedy happen? What happens after we die? These are questions that can come up in conversation with even the most irreligious person. Don't cast your net to fish for people without serious prayer. God can give you words to say that you didn't even know you could say. But God waits for our hearts to be open and the path to be prepared before God will place those words on our lips. It won't be easy, but the results can be great, both in this life in the life to come. Call 1-866-734-9422 or visit www.medicalert.ca. C)Medic Alert Lets You Live Life.
