Know the Warning Signs of a Stroke
Trouble Speaking -
Sudden temporary
loss of speech or
trouble
understanding
speech.
Vision Problems -
Sudden loss of
vision, particularly
in one eye, or double
vision.
When diagnosing a heart attack, doctors will usually take a detailed medical history (when
possible), learn as much as they can about the patient's symptoms, and do a clinical
examination, an electrocardiogram and blood tests. The blood tests are used to test for
the presence of enzymes that are released by heart muscle cells that have been injured.
The patient's heart rhythms will also be monitored.
Damage to the heart muscle can be detected by means of X-rays, electrocardiograms,
echocardiography, or angiograms.
Heart Attack Warning Signals
Pain sudden discomfort or pain that does not go away with rest,
pain that may be in the chest, neck, jaw, shoulder, arms or back,
pain that may feel like burning, squeezing, heaviness, tightness, heaviness or
pressure in women, pain may be more vague.
Shortness of Breath Sweating
difficulty breathing cool, clammy skin
Nausea Fear
indigestion anxiety
vomiting denial
Signs may be mild or severe.
Seek immediate medical attention
if you have any of these
symptoms.
