PUBLIC WORKS
The Township of North Huron is accepting applications for the
position of Director of Public Works.
The Director of Public Works is responsible for management of
the Public Works and Water Departments. Responsibilities
include drafting capital and operating budgets, setting priorities
for work, staff supervision, establishing policies and advising
Council and Committees on related matters. Responsibilities also
include directing the installation, maintenance, operation and
delivery of services for roads, sidewalks, sanitary and storm
sewers, wastewater treatments, waste collection and disposal,
landfill operations, water supply and distribution and cemetery
maintenance.
Qualifications:
• Experience with municipal water and sewer systems
is preferred.
• Experience with heavy equipment essential.
• Five years related work experience, preferably in a
municipal environment.
• Valid Ontario Class D Drivers Licence.
• Successful completion of Ontario Good Roads
Certificate Program preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of construction practices and
construction estimating.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to deal effectively,
courteously, and tactfully with North Huron Council and staff,
contractors and the general public.
Salary including benefit package will be in accordance with the
2003 salary range ($46,259 to $57,824) and will commensurate
with qualifications and experience. A copy of the job description
