Stormy weather cancelled the
Brussels Cadet meeting along with
lots of other things in the area last
week.
The Thursday night darts at
Brussels Legion had 16 players
taking aim at the boards. The first-
place team was John Harrison and
Lisa Glanville. Second-place was
Sandra Josling and Paul Gross. The
high shot for the ladies was Jo-Ann
McDonald and for the men, Bruce
Clark.
The Friday night supper of baked
pork chops was enjoyed by over 30.
This Friday is meatloaf.
On Saturday 12 darters attended

Well the words "the wonder of
winter" are sure in the headlines the
past few days as the scene from the
kitchen window evolved. Visibility
that stays in the poor to nil stage puts'
outings of any sort on a need-to-go
basis and travel even on foot makes
for a debatable subject.
It's the time of year when we think
in terms of real needs and the items
that should to be ever present in our
homes just to make it through a
storm day or two. And it's well past
time to check the-overnight bags that
should be in every vehicle in this
land of ours. Just one time of being
caught without your toothbrush, a
change of clothes and a few other
important things is enough to remind
folks to do this wee job as part of
their winter preparation.
January is often the month to
remind us that Mother Nature's
offerings can viciously change at a
moment's notice, so be prepared.
Numbers and papers are flying
about in many homes the past few
days as annual reports are beginning
to take shape. This is the time of
year that we look back on the
activity of our group to see where
we did well and where we need to
improve. As we check the reports,
we see where we need to change and
grow and we see where we are doing
well.
So good luck as you compile your
numbers and notes.
Kevin and Marie Bernard now of
London were in the community on
Sunday celebrating. They know the
best place to celebrate birthdays is
right here and besides they missed
all the exciting weather changes.
