Brussels Livestock report
1,591 head of cattle sold by week's end
Total receipts for the week ending
Dec. 23 were 1,591 head of cattle,
1,803 lambs and goats.
On Tuesday the fed steers and
heifers sold at prices $2 to $4 higher.
On Thursday the veal sold under
pressure. The Iambs sold on an
active trade at prices steady to last
week. The goats sold under pressure.
On Friday all classes of stockers
sold on a strong active trade.
There were 99 steers on offer sell-
ing from $85 to $90 with sales to
$106. Luke Gingrich. Chesley, con-
signed one red steer weighing 1.395
lbs. which sold for $106. His overall
offering of nine steers averaged
1.534 lbs. selling for an average
price of $87.76. Six limousin steers
consigned by Manassah Martin,
Paisley, averaged 1,571 lbs. selling
for an average price of $93 with his
m;• steer weighing 1,520 lbs. selling
to Dominion Meat Packers for $101.
David Bowles, Brussels, con-
signed one red steer weighing 1,350
lbs. which sold to Dominion Meats
for $99. His overall offering of four
steers averaged 1,464 lbs. selling for

There were 53 heifers on offer
selling, from $85 to $90 with sales

Wroxeter, consigned seven limousin
steers averaging 1,291 lbs. selling
for an average price pi' $96.34 with
sales up to $101.25. Seven heifers
consigned by Ken Shortreed,
Walton. averaged 1,349 lbs. selling

weighing 705 lbs. which sold to
Holly Park Meat Packers for $128.
His overall offering of three limou-
sin veal steers averaged 688 lbs. sell-
ing for an average price of $1.17.46.
One blonde veal heifer consigned by
George Ducharme, Dashwood,
weighed 665 lbs. selling to
Newmarket Meat Packers for $119.
His overall consignment of three
veal calves averaged 637 lbs. selling

Total receipts for the week ending
Dec. 31 were 1,015 head of cattle,
174 lambs and goats.
On Tuesday the fed steers and
heifers sold under pressure. The
good cows sold $2 to $3 higher with
the balance trading fully steady. On
Thursday the veal sold on a steady
market. The lambs sold on a strong
active trade at steady prices.
There were 596 steers on offer
selling from $80 to $85 with sales to
$96. Charles Ready, St. Marys,-con-
signed one limousin steer weighing
1,390 lbs. which sold to Holly Park
Meat Packers for $96.50. His overall
offering of ten steers averaged 1,383
lbs. selling for an average price of
$87.08. Nineteen steers consigned
by Willard B. Martin, Drayton, aver-
aged 1,512 lbs. selling for an aver-
age price of $82.09 with his top two
limousin steers averaging 1,393 lbs.
