Since last Friday evening, the
° Ripley barber shop, located in the
east wing of the Paul D. McInnes or
Oddfellows buildings, is baire and
empty. Barber Less Wardell
moved out.. his equipment at that
time. This is another service which
is no longer in Ripley.

In a sidewalk fall two weeks ago,
Mrs. Don McCoili had the misfor-
tune to' suffer an ankle fracture.
Anne was taken to Kincaidine
Hospital,by Mrs. Marjorie Reid and
Mrs. Grace Peet where she
received treatment.

Last Thursday evening, presid-
ent Mrs. Nadine Danforth of Point
Clark, and the ladies of the Ripley
Huron Legion Auxiliary held their
December meeting and annual pot
luck supper in the Legion Hall in
Ripley. •

It was Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Campbell of the 4th concession east
in Huron _TownShip who found
those copies of newspapers going
back to the First World War. The
Campbell family reside on the
Edgar Watson farm, a block east of
the fifteenth load.

Jim Richardson of Walkerton,
known to several in the Ripley area
through his work at the Ripley
Huron Fall Fair, was named last
week as one of the exhibitors
winning prizes at the Royal Winter
Fair in Toronto. Walkerton was the
town of the day in"your town
Canada" series. Congratulations
go to Jim from this area and also to
that 'veteran showman and prize
winner Norman' Schmidt, also of
Walkerton.
Well it is nice that the snow has
gone again and the grass in Gore
Park looks so green. Starting on
Tuesday' and through till Thursday
of last week it was winter. Late
Tuesday there were times of very•
poor visibility for driving.

People from the Ripley area
attended the Santa Claus parade
down the mainstreet of Kincardine
last Saturday afternoon. With
motoring Conditions good and a
nice day, a large crowd lined the
streets.

On Sunday evening, the Ripley
Intermediates had a game here
with Atwood. This is the first game
not on the usual Friday evening.
