colouring contest at their store last
week. •

went to Cindy Moore, 10, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Moore of
VVhitechurch.
On the left, second prize. winner
Paul Hackett, 8, is pictured with a,
pair of skates presented to him.
Paul is the son of Mr. and Mrs. D.
A. Hackett , of Ashfield Township.
Lisa Hi'verde, 6, on the right,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Hilverda of Lucknow, was the third
prize winner of a doll.

iate the assistance of the teachers
who judged the colouring entries
and of the interest of the 115 young
people, 12 and under, who entered
the contest. Each received a
colouring book, when their entry
was submitted.

KINLOUGH
Bert Nicholson and 'Lois went to.
Brampton. on Sunday, and we are
pleased to report that. Mrs.
Nicholson was able to leave the
hospital and is at the home of their
daughter Evelyn.. Lois remained
there for a few days.
Miss Norma Coutts of Wingham
visited on Tuesday with Edna and
May Boyle.
Note change of date. The
Anglican Church Women will meet
on Saturday afternoon, December
6th at the church and will join with
the Sunday School for their
Christmas party.
On Sunday morning,, December
7th the Anglican Services'will be at
Ripley, Bervie and Lucknow.
BRIDAL SHOWER
On :Monday evening relatiVes,
friends and neighbours gathered at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill'Burt
to honour Miss Connie Preiss_ion
her approaching marriage. Mrs.
Jack Barr was chairlady and began
with a humorous reading. Other
readings were giyen by Mrs. John
Barr. Mrs. • Tom MacDonald and
Mrs. Stewart Lane. . Three of the
Van Sligtenhorst sisters favoured
with a song and contests were
conducted by Mrs. Tom MacDon-
ald; Mrs. Don Bushell and Mrs.
Frank Maulden. Mrs. Bill . Shaw
read an address to the bride,
Wendy Shaw and ' Helen Van
Sligtenhorst wheeled in the gifts,
Mrs. Nancy McTeer, sister of the
bride, read the verses and Susan
Barr placed them. Connie made a
fitting reply. Grace was sung and a
lovely lunch was served.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs,
"Mac" MacDonald of Bakersfield,
California on the gift of their little
son on Saturday, November 29th.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Barr spent
the week end in Niagara with Miss
Betty HaMilton.
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Thompson
and Cheryl of Cuiross visited
Sunday with her parents here.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom . McDonald
visited with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh
Munro, at Hanover during the
week.
Mrs. Norman , Fry of Hartiston
visited Saturday with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs: William E. Heiden-
by.
Mr. And Mrs. Ken MacDonald,
Carl and Lisa 'spent the week end
at Kitchener with her parents; Mr.
and Mrs. Carl Yeandle.
SUFFERED LEG FRACTURE
The many friends of Mrs. Don
MCCosh were so sorry to know she
suffered a broken leg, in a fall on
the street in Ripley and is a patient
in Kincardine Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Glen. Haldenby,
Mrs. Myrtle *Percy, ,Mr. and Mrs.
Howard Thoinpson were guests at
the Kleist-Trafford wedding and
reception at Hanover.
