Trinity United Church Women
held their November meeting at the
home of ,Mrs. Blake Alton, with an
attendance of 19. The president
opened the meeting with a few
I
words of welcome and then all
'joined intsinging hymn 523, 0 God
of love, oh King of' Peace, then all
repeated the Lord's prayer in
unison. •Mrs. Frank Ritchie read a
remembrance poem "Oh Valiant
Hearts Who to Your Glory Came".
The roll call was answered with a
verse on peace.
Mrs. Donald Hackett led the
devotions on 'God is conteni-
pory". All 'sang the first part of
hymn 17, Praise my soul the King
of Heaven. Mrs. Donald Hackett
assisted by Mrs. Alex Hackett read
several portions of scripture from
Isaiah and the last part of hymn 17
was sung. Mrs. Donald Hackett
gave the meditation and Mrs.
Chester Hackett . had a poem
"What Is God".. Hymn 13 followed
and Mrs. Donald Hackett closed
the devotions with prayer.
Mrs. Ken Alton gave "The
Trinity Tattler" and the' business
part of the meeting followed. Mrs.
Chester Hackett reported some on
tlit Study Book. The supply
committee reported they will be
packing another bale in February/
Mrs. Cook reported on the Presby-
terial held in Holn-^,sville October
21, and Mrs. Chester Hackett
reported on the president's rally
held in, Mitchell.
The ladies are asked to turn in
whatever stamps they have collect-.
ed. The meeting closed with hymn
502 and„.the- committee in charge
served a delicious lunch.

Twenty-seven members and two
guests attended the Kingsbridge
Catholic Women's League meeting
held in the school.. Mrs. Frayne
brought the meeting to Order and
Rev. E. Dentinger led in prayer.
Mrs. Frayne welcomed all to the
meeting.. There will be First Friday
mass with Vigil afterwards until
midnight.
Mrs. Denis Champagne called
the roll. Mrs. Joe Courtney gave
the Pro-Life report/ about the
banquet held October 22. The
treasurer's report was given and
accepted. Mrs. Jim Martin read
the correspondence: a thank you
from MrS. Rita Tigert and Jennifer;
a receipt from the White Fathers;
and that Mrs. Courtney, Mrs.
Dalton and Mrs. Martin wrote
letters to various church groups
concerning the Pro-Life meeting.
Fr. Dentinger thanked all who
have led the rosary and stressed
the blessings that come from the
rosary. We will visit the Pinecrest,
Manor in January. Mrs. , Carl
Riegling mentioned that the CNIB'
appeal is coming along fine. Mrs.
John Howard reported: Brigadoon
being' held Thursday, Friday and
Saturday at G.D.C.I. and a brief
she is working on "violence in the
media". Mrs. Frayne reported on
the • dedication of the new board
offices in. Dublin November 5 and
the P.T.A. meeting held October 16
with Alexander Eaton as guest
Speaker.
Volunteers to buy and deliver
gifts to the sick and shut ins at
Xmas are needed. Combermere
clothing will be sent in November.
Ideas were asked for on the
December meeting. It was decided
to hold a soup and bread banquet
and spend the •Money we would'
normally spend on a banquet on
some worthy cause. A Maim was
brought forward to collect a
minimum of two dollars from each
member for this .cause and
members volunteered to bake
bread and make soup. The •next
meeting will be December 8. The
meeting was adjourned and prayer

KINLOUGH NEWS
The Anglican Church Women
met on Thursday afternoon at the
home of Mrs. Midford Wall with a
good attendance. 'Mrsr Howard
Thompson presided and read an
appropriate poem and welcomed
everyone. The 'hymn "Jesus shall
reign where'er the sun" was sung.
Mrs. Ronald Thacker read the
scripture. Psalm 122. .Mrs.
Midford Wall gave a prayer for the
sick. Members and all joined in the
members prayer and the prayer for
our prayer partners, Rev. and Mrs.
George Honour, who were visited
recently by Mrs. Gertrude Walsh,
Mrs. Howard Thompson and Mrs.
Bert Nicholson while they were
with other relatives at Melfort,
Saskatchewan. ,
The meditation was given by
Mrs. Roy Collins on. "Peace",
which was also the word for the roll
call. The correspondence followed.
Two quilts were sold and further
plans are , underway for visiting,
Pinecrest Manor at Lucknow. Mrs.
Howard , Thompson gave the pray-
ers for.Missionary Societies and the
packing of the bales, and also
thanked the hostess and retiring
officers. Four lovely bales .were
packed, one. for St. Monica 'House.
Waterloo, and three for Western
Canada.
Miss Edna BOyle nreeided for the
election of officers. which were as
follows: president, Miss May
Boyle; vice president, Mrs. Delbert .
Hedley; secretary-treasurer. Mrs.
Ronald Thacker; assistant. Mrs.
Roy Collins; Sunday School secret-
ary treasurer, Mrs. Gerald Rhody;
work and . supply, Mrs. Bert
Nicholson, Mrs. George Graham,
Mrs. Art Haldenby; prayer part-
ners' secretary. Mrs. Howard
Thompson; family life. Mrs. Bert
Nicholson, Miss May Boyle; social
service (cards). Miss Edna Boyle;
social service (visiting), Mrs.
Gertrude Walsh. Mrs. George

The NOvember meeting of the St.
Peter's Anglican Church Women
was held in the Parish Hall,
November 11 at 8.15 p.m. •
President, Mrs. Harvey Mole,
presided and opened the meeting
with prayer. Psalm 55 was read by
Mrs. Harold Cooper. Sewing of
drapes for the hall was discussed
and hopefully will be done next
week.
Mr. Garrett reported on the
Great Chapter meeting he had
attended in Wingharn. Mrs. Tom
Pritchard reported, on the Deanery
meeting in Goderich'. She said
there was a portion of the time,
given to. meditation and prayer and
workshop. After her' report a
discussion took place,re that part of
the Deanery meeting. It was
decided to send a donation, to, St..
Monica house. The ladies will visit
Pinecrest sometime in January and
entertain the patients.
Mr. Garrett spoke on the topic
"Do I need God or am I self
sufficient". He said from Adam,
who felt himself self sufficient arid
therefore ate \the forbidden fruit, to
the present time man fails when he
becomes too sure' he can handle
everything himself. Knowledge is,
good but sometimes tempts .us to
believe we can do everything on
our own and fail' to see the evil in
the world. If we but look God can
be seen in the simplest or • most
complex things. We are all God's
children. Mr. Garrett then led a
lively discussion on the subject.
' The meeting was closed with
prayer. Ltinch and a social time
followed.

The December meeting will be
held at the church and will be a
Christmas party put on by the
A.C.W. and the Sunday School,
when ,they will receive 'their
Christmas treats and gifts.

The Donnybrook United Church •
Women met at the home of Mrs.' E.
Robinson Tuesday evening, Nov-
ember 11 with 11 members and 1
visitor. Mrs, R. Hanna used
"Shining Windows" as the theme
of the meeting.. Mrs. W. Jefferson-
read the scripture from Matthew 5,
verses 13-16 and followed with
prayer.
Mrs. Hanna and Mrs. Jefferson
gave , as the topic "Shining
Windows". They said light • is
essential. Without sunlight there'
would be no life on earth. Growing
plants need sunlight, people need
sunlight. All creation needs
warmth and light of the sun. So the
light of Jesus• Christ is necessary
for . the spiritual life of the soul.

World", The windows of the soul
must be polished and cleaned with
the shining cloth of syMpathy, good
works and love. Our missionary
work is one of the best ways that we
have of letting our lights shine.
Following hymn 436 Mrs. Hanna
gaire a reading "Thought for the
month". •
Mrs. R. Hanna led the bUsinesS
part of the 'meeting. Mrs. M.
Johnston reported she had the bale
ready to be shipped. Mrs.
Robinson reported the card order
had arrived. She also gave a report
on the Presbyterial held at Holmes7
vflle.
Mrs. S. Thompson and Mrs. J.
Hildebrand were appointed as a
nominating committee. Lunch was
served by. the hostess.and 'assisted
by Mrs. M. Johnston.
said.
Following this a good crowd
gathered in the school gym for the
Pro-Life meeting.

PANEL DISCUSSION
Mrs. Betty Frayne welcomed all
to the meeting and Rev. Barz led in
prayer. Mrs: Courtney reported
that two groups: Alliance for Life of
Wingham and Goderich Pro-Life
were present "and she stated the
aims of both groups and called on
Mr. Dan Murphy to say a few
words. Mr. Murry,, stated the
subject of abortion is very emotion-
al and the purpose of this program •
is to influence people to not want
an abortion. The slides were
factual, quite shocking and disturb-
ing and led to' some interesting
questions. The panel: from
Wingham - Sally Campeau,• Adrian
Keet, Sharon .Munroe; Goderich -
Connie, Osborne. Rev. Bari and
Dan Murphy answered these
questions.
Rev. Dentinger said a few words
and Mrs. Pete MacDonald thanked
I the panel. Lunch was served.
