Ashfield Township
Council Minutes
Ashfield Council met on Novem • -
ber 4 with all members present.
The clerk was instructed, 'to call
tenders for renting the Township
farm for a 5 year' term.
The preliminary - reports were
considered on the proposed Alton
and Cook Drain improvement. E.
H. Ilderstadt was present and he
was instructed to draw up plans,
specifitations and reports.
Messis,'Walkem and Reed were
present requesting that council
assume ownership of the roadway
in front of their subdivision at lot
23, Lake Range. Clerk was
instructed to have • the soliCitor
draw up a by-law to assume
ownership of the road allowance
with the condition that any
maintenance on the road would be
the responsibility of the cottage
owners involved. Don Pengelly of
Dungannon waited on council with
a request that James Street in
Dungannon be opened. Council
agreed to contact.' the county
engineer about the access to the
county road at this lot.
An application for Tile Drainage
Loan was approved for Loine
Luther.
Tile Drainage Rating by-law #17,
in the amount of $23,400, was
given 3 readings and passed.
Applications for severance were
approved for Mrs. Margaret Mac-
Kenzie, Mrs. Marjorie Machttyre,-
Lloyd Collins, Mel Dickson, Gordon
Kirkland, and Jim Martin.
Council instructed the clerk to
ask the Ministry of Agriculture and
Food to have the common burdock
included as a 'noxious weed under
the 'Weed Control Act, and this to
apply only in the hamlet of
Dungannon. "
The tender of Westeel Rosco Ltd.
was accepted to supply a multiplate
steel arCh culvert for lot 12,
concession 2, 3 E.D. at a price of
54,700. •
A refund of taxes was granted for
1975 to Ross Scott and Robert
Stothers as their business was
destroyed by fire.
Application was made to the
M.T.C. for the interim subsidi, on
the 1975 road expenditure.
Road accounts of $4,962,56 and
general accounts of $192,492.35
were approved for payment.
The meeting adjourned to meet
November 18th at 7.30 p.m.
