DUNGANNON
CONTINUED FROM PAGE ,l
Belfast papers, a lady came to my
door: She was Mrs. Daisy Bogle,
14 Drumcoo Green,, Dungannon,
Co. Tyrone, Al. Ireland.
This lady is the daughter of the
late William Malliagh, a direct
descendant of ice Malliagh„ father
of your WILLIAM MALLOUGH
who founded Dungannon, Ontario,
so long ago. Mrs. Bogle tells me
she has all the papers and birth
certificates and documents ,,neces-
sary to establish the relationship
and also has a brother living in
Dungannon called Joe idalliagb.
She is not only willing but very
keen to enter into conespondence
with anyone who likes to get in
touch with her.
I have another small piece of
news for you that is even more
exciting. Mrs. Bogle and her
husband plan to visit your Dungan-
non next year during a holiday in
Canada_ I will keep you posted.
with details as the time approach-
es: I understand , from Mrs.
MacDonald that , the Women"s
Institute. in Danganiven. Ontario.
undertook a centennial project in
1%7 to find out the history of their
town and to compile all . the
information into one large,book. It
is certain that Mrs. Bogle and her
huSband will wish to see this and
perhaps they • will be able . to
produce additional, information. • I
can imagine the warmth of the
.welcome they will receive and look
forWarzl to full reports both in your'
paper, from your readers and from
the Bogies on their' return . to this
country.

You and your readers may be ,
interested to know that I am not..
after all, a stranger to your pages. .
A letter front Mis. Margaret
Pritchard. .1 Haddington Avenue.,
Toronto, tells Me that a year or so
ago she read in Ulster Commentary
about a garden someone had
dreamed up in D* ngannon. plant-
irkg on waste ground sas her
cons ribution to the community,
exchanging reels for beautiful
roses. This intrigued her so much
that she copied out the item for
your 1Dacknow Seminel • "Don't
look for these roses in Ontario.
I though". she added. "This
Dangan non is in Ireland!" •
I Can new reveal that I planted
that garden and I 'enclose a
photograph which you may like to
II use. nu nor or rich arclever
or anything special, butt I wanted to
show that anybody can do • soiree-
thing goo& for their country.. This
was my small gesture.. The garden
!I was made up of cuttings hem my
own small patch so it ofidn't
,, even 'ant anything except, of
outirse., a lot of hard weak - but it
has been such a success that it has
new been taken over by our Town
Council and will.. I hope, be there
