A sign of autumn is the cattle
trains coming through Ripley
bringing carloads of beef calves
from Western Canada. On Monday
evening of last week a train arrived
here about ten thirty with eight
carloads. Two • of these were
"spotted" or placed on the siding
by the stockyards. Then the other
six were taken to Kincardine. The
calves were loaded into trucks
waiting to take them to the farms in
the area. Then the empty cars
were taken back on Tuesday ,
evening as another train went up to
the east.
