DUNGANNON Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wilbur and Mr. and Mrs. Ennis Comfort spent the week end at Wilbur's summer home here. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Park, Patty and Tod visited with Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Lawlor at Auburn on Sunday. Valerie Park is now employed at the Schaefer Pen. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Rhody (nee Kathy Hallam) and family have moved into a. mobile home on Crawford Avenue in Dungannon. They formerly lived in Meneset Park. Mrs. Chisholm's sister, Mrs. Earl Ritcey, Middleton, Nova Scotia visited for a few days recently with Mr. and Mrs. Len Chisholm and family. Rev. H. G. Dobson preached his sermon entitled, "Remember" for Remembrance Day worship service at Dungannon United Church. - Miss Shelley Rivett played the organ and Miss Frances Logten- berg accompanied the choir on the guitar for their number. For anyone interested, a conference on Wise Land Use is being held on. November 20 and 21 in Brucefield United Church. The Explorers meet on Monday at 7.00 p.m. and the. Little People, on Wednesday at 7.00 p.m. Choir practice is also on Wednesday at 7.00 p.m. Visitors on the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Smith were Mr. and Mrs. Karl Smith and family of Chatham and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lauzon of Stoney Point. Mrs. Harold lenken, Saskatoon and her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Dunn, and baby , daughter Sandra of Hawke stone, Ontario, -called on Mrs. Jenken's aunt Mrs: Chas. Fowler and Mr. Fowler on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Fowler, Darrel-and Karen of Parkhill visited with his parents on Sunday. THIS WEEK IN CONTINUED FROM PAGE 1'6 News was received, in Ripley of the passing of Kenneth McLean in Westminster Hospital in London. Well known former Ripleyite and veteran ' of World War two, Kenny was in his 71st year. Sympathy is extended to his wife, the former Jean Henderson and his five 'sisters Etta, Katherine, Marie, Myrtle and Jewelle. The funeral service and Masonic service were held in London.14Interment and burial was in Ripley Cemetery on Monday afternoon. A serious loss was suffered last Friday evening by Mr. and Mrs.- Glen Boyd when their barn containing the season's crops, 200 pigs and other items was destroyed by. fire. The Ripley Fire Depart- ment was called and were at the fire. Three area men have done the work of building the ice surface in the new Ripley Huron Complex. They are Kenny MacDonald, Allan Irwin and John D. MacKay. There has already been, a full week and a half of activity there. For two Mondays now from 4 to 7 in the afternoon figure and power skating classes have been held. Last week end the Ripley Intermediates had their first hockey workout and 'on Sunday afternoon a Junior Farmers tournament was r held with teams from Teeswater, Mildmay, Tara, Ripley and Port Elgin. Allan Irwin is in charge of the area boys 'hockey for Saturday morning. He' has over 100 registered but there is still room for more - any boy age 6 years or over is eligible to register and should contact Allan if he wishes to participate. The manager of Whitechurch Mr. and Mrs. Bev Kay on Friday evening attended a Graduation Ceremony at Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Kay and family of Guelph were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bev Kay and Wendy. On, Sunday evening Whitechurch ' Y.P.S. attended Knox Presbyter- ian Church, Wingham to hear a talk by Mr. McSween "on Missions of Canada. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Elliott and family of Hillsdale visited on the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Johnston and family of St. Pauls and with Mrs. Gershom Johnston and George Grigg visiting there. Mrs. Etta. Johnston and George Grigg were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Jim:Johnston and family of Listowel. • Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wood and Sylvia of Egmondville were Satur- day visitors with her mother Mrs. Gershom Johnston. On Sunday Mrs. Gershom John- ston and George Grigg, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ritchie and family. On the way home they visited with many they knew at Pinecrest Nursing Home 'at Luck-, now.. Miss Gayle Rintoul, is enjoying a three week holiday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Rintoul.' On the week end she and her brother Brian hope to visit Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Rintoul and attend the Royal Winter Fair where Leroy is showing Charolais cattle. Miss Chris. Orien of 'Wingham spent the week end with her, friend, Wendy Kay. Whitechurch W.M.S. meeting will be held Wednesday, November 19 'at the home of Mrs. Victor Emerson.
