Ripley United Church, decorated

ne Ada MacDonald and Larry
e Irwin on Saturday, August 30th
4 p.m.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
d Mrs. John MacDonald. The
groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Leonard Irwin, all of Ripley.
Rev. Carnochan of Ripley offic-
iated at the double ring ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a white floor-length
appliqued gown, stand-up collar,
sheer sleeves and floor-length veil

yellow rosebuds, stephanotis and
baby mums in white and pink.
Miss Donna MacDonald of
Ripley 'was her sister's maid of
honour.
Bridesniaids were Miss Carolyn
MacDonald of Ripley, sister of the
bride and Miss Marg MacTavish of
London, friend of the bride.
Lois Ann. Halliday of Owen
Sound, niece of the groom, was
flower girl.
The attendants wore identical
gowns of flocked floral nykin over
polyester with matching yellow
capes. Their flowers were white
daisies in baskets.
Ringbearer was Scott Van den
Hogen of Chatham, nephew of the
bride.
Groomsman was Ken Irwin of
Burlington, brother of the groom.
Ushers were Ian MacDonald of
Toronto, brother of the bride and
Sandy Pollock of Ripley, friend of
the groom.
Organist was Mrs. Marion
Gamble of 'Ripley, aunt of the
bride. Soloists were Ric. and Terry
Irwin of R. R. 3 Lucknow, nephews
of the groom.
A reception followed in Ripley.
The bride's mother wore
a floor-length gown in peach colour
with an orchid corsage.
The groom's mother chose a
light blue &or-length gown with
an orchid .corsage.
The couple are residing at R. R. 4
Ripley.

Tony Johnstone and was replied to
by Mrs. Bruce Hamilton.
Doug Martyn proposed a toast to
Grand Lodge with the reply coming
from District Deputy Grand Master
Mac Inglis.
A welcome and thank you was
extended to all by Worshipful
'Master of the Lodge, Ron' Alton.
Bill MacPherson expressed
thanks to the Anglican Church
ladies who catered to the meal and.
this was replied to by 'Mrs. Harvey
Mole.
Alex Robertson of Wingham, a
past 'District Deputy Grand Master,
shoWed his slides and , gave a
commentary of a trip he and Mrs.
Robertson had taken to The, Holy
Land in company with other
members of Grand Lodge.
Bob MacKenzie expressed the
thanks of Lucknow Lodge and
presented a gift to Mr. Robertson.
A program followed with Ron
Alton as.chairman: violin numbers
by, George and Murray McDonald
and Elliott Carruthers with piano
accompaniment by Mrs. George
McDonald; vocal solos by' Ann
Hamilton, accompanied by her
mother; guitar and vocal numbers
by Cyril Brown and Mrs. Dorothy
Brown with piano accompaniment
by Dorothy; a monologue by Mrs.
Ronald Forster; vocal and guitar
numbers by Marsha Altcin; accord-
ian selections by Mrs. Herb
Barger; instrumental numbers bY
the Don Cameron family, Barbara,
Colin, Rosalea and Don.

paniment by Barbara Cameron,
ended the. evening.
BROWNIE
NEWS
The Lucknow Brownies held
their Hallowe'en Party on October.
28th.
Several games were played, then
a costume parade was held. , Mrs.
Edith Webster was the judge and
the winners were: Comic, Luanne
MacLeod and Sandy Brooks; Fancy
Dress, Julie Nicholson and Cathy
Hamilton.
The Brownies, along with .the
friends they had brought for the
party enjoyed more games followed
by a lunch of sandwiches, cookies
and freshie. This brought a fun
meeting to a close.
KINLOUGH
Mrs. Gerald Rhody entertained
neighbouring ladies at her home at
a Tupperware Party put on by Mrs.
Hickey of Ripley on Thursday last
week. .
Mr. and Mrs. George Haldenby
returned home after spending a
few days with relatives at Cornwall.
Mrs. Marjorie Wall of Wingham
demonstrated Stanley ware at an
afternoon party on. Thursday at the
home of Mrs. Midford Wall.
Bert Nicholson and Lois were to
London on Monday. Bert had a
medical appointment.
Mrs. Fred Friendorf and Jason of
Elmira visited during the week with
her mother, Mrs. Bertha Haldenby
and other members of her family
and also with Mr. and Mrs.
Friendorf at Lucknow.
Misses Nellie and Margaret
Malcolm of Lucknow were dinner
guests of Edna and 'May Boyle on
Tuesday.
Mrs. Tom MacDonald returned
home from Wingham and District
Hospital where she has been a
patient.
Mrs. Midford Wall is hostess for
the A.C.W. November l3th at her
home. Bales will be packed and
also the election of officers for the
New Year. The word for the roll
call is "Peace"..
Mr. and Mrs, Gerald Rhody
entertained all of the Rhody family
at a dinner on Sunday.
