Lucknow Couple
. Mr. and Mrs. Alex (Bud)
Farrish, now residents of Lucknow,
were honoured at • a gathering on
Saturday, October 25th at Ripley
Township Hall.
Mr. and Mrs. Farrish formerly
farmed in Ashfield Township and
moved to Lucknow in May of this
year to the Norm Siegrist home on
Inglis Street, which they had
earlier purchased.
Former' neighbours, friends and
relatives gathered for a social time
and on behalf of the group, Bob
Simpson and Allan MacDonald
presented • the honoured couple
with a purse of money.
Grades 6 - 13 viewed slides of the
Ripley Huron Reunion and Ripley
Huron Fall Fair. The slides were
taken by Courtney MacDonald.
Everyone enjoyed them and some
people had the pleasure (or
displeasure) of seeing themselves
up on the screen. Thanks-a-lot'

REMEMBER!
On Monday, November 3, a
Remembrance Day Service was put
on by the Level III History class. ,
We started• the service off with the
film "Total War". Each student
then recited a • sentence on what
remembranCe meant to them. We
then sang "Let There Be Peace".
Then some students had some
readings dealing with events and
results of the war. Then everyone
sang "One Tin Soldier". We then
repeated '"In Flanders Fields" in
unison. Donna Gallant read a
reading and led in a minute's
silence; then the playing of the Last
. Post. Thanks goes to Mr. Richards
and Ken MacKay for playing the
music. Thank • you Level III
students for putting on such a
meaningful assembly.
CHESS
Last Saturday, October 25, our
Chess team travelled 'to a tourna-
ment in Wiarton. Members of the
team are Wray Thompson, Tim
Palmer, Robert Reiger and Robbie
Sutton. The coach, Mr. Turvill
`travelled with them. Other schools
that participated were Wiatton and
,Lions. Head. Wray Thompson won
3rd overall. Tim 'Palmer won 2 out.
of 4 games. Congratulations boys
and thanks to the others who
represented our school.
SOUTH MUMS
South Kinloss Young People's
S
ociety enjoyed a Hallowe'en
ocial in the church basement
Friday evening. A walk' through
the Horror House and other spooky
games were planned by members
and their leaders, Mrs. Leonard
Clarke- and Mrs. Don Bell.
Special music at the church
service-on Sunday at Smith Kinloss
were violin renditions .of the
hymns, Sweet Hour of Prayer and
Tell Me the Old Old Story, played
by Fraser MacKinnon, Harold
Campbell and Ira Dickie
accompanied by Mrs. J. A.
Needham, on the piano.
PROPERTY CHANGES HANDS
Mrs. Stanley Lanidell has moire&
to her new home in Hartiston from
the former Lockhart farm. The new
owners are Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Robb of Ayr.
Miss Bessie Carnochan of Ot-
tawa visited Monday at the homes
of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Needham' and
Mr. and Mrs. Ira Dickie.
Mrs. Frank MacKenzie was able
to return home from University
Hospital, London on Friday.
Mr. Cecil Hoffe is a patient in
Wingham and District Hospital.
We wish him a speedy recovery.
Anne Cainpbell of Wingham was-
a week end guest at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Donald C. Macln-
tyre.
A large birthday party with
family and friends for Mrs. Irene
Bell was held Sunday at the home
of Mr.' and Mrs. Don Bell.
Mr. and Mrs.•Jack Needham and
Mrs. Wm. Maclntyre spent an
interesting day recently with Mr.
and Mrs. Harvey MacDougall of
Hayfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Graham and
Martha Were guests Saturday with
Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Gould and
family. of Stratford.

end included, Rod MacKenzie of
Toronto, Betty Colwell from Strat-

Douglas Dickie from Markdale.

At Birthday Party
A birthday party was held on
Sunday, November 22nd at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Bell, R.
R. S Lucknow, in honour of Don's
mother, Mrs. Irene Bell of Toronto.
About twenty-five guests attend-
ed from North Bay, Brantford.
Toronto, Gorrie, Teeswater, Kin-
loss and Lucknow. '

GRADE 10 TRIP TO COURT
On Thursday, October 30th, the
other half of the Grade 10 class
visited Bruce County Court in,
Walkerton. The trip is, part of the
history course made by the class
each year. The students viewed
some interesting cases and every-
one enjoyed themselves.
EXAMS
Everyone is busy this week
studying for mid-term exams;
They start on November 5th and
continue until the 10th. Good luck
to everyone! '-
INTRAMURAL VOLLEYBALL
The intramural volleyball has
come to an end for this year. The
boys played their final games last
Tuesday with the following team
coming- out on top, Mike Gallant,
Mark Stanley, Rick Clampitt, Glen
Grubb, Greg Rouse, and George
Dickison.
The girls played. two of their final
games on Wednesday. Each team
won a game and the final was,
played on Monday. The victorious
team consists of Arlene Tranter,
Laurie. Coiling, Heather Boyle,
Ardis Nicholson, Ruth Cluley,
Dawna Rutledge and Mary Marg-
aret Smith.
Each team member will receive
an intramural crest. Congratida-
tions goes to the winners!!
