Lucknow. Plans were to dismantle
the house, log by log, and move it
to a lot in the Collingwood area, to
be reassembled and used as a
winter ski lodge and a summer
cottage.
Harold Maize, of Dungannon set
a' record at the Lncknow Bowling
Alley, when he bowled 408 in the
men's league. The previous record
at the Lucknow Alley, open for less
than two years, was 368.

A local business transaction took
place whereby Stuart Robertson
disposed of his egg grading
business to Harry Nixon. This
business had been established
thirty-five years previously, in the
fall of 1910, although for a few
months prior to that he had been
gathering eggs through the coun-
try.

The South Bruce Plowmen's
Association found.' it .necessary,
owing to,bad weather conditions, 'to
postpone the plowing match from
the last week in'October to the first

The sixth meeting of White-
church Nifty Needlers was held on
Wednesday, October 29. The
president Wendy Kay opened the
meeting with repeating the pledge:
The roll call, an idea for
achievement day exhibit, was,
answered by 5. Clara Milligan read
the minutes. The next meeting is
November 1 at the, home of leader
Mrs. Walter Elliott.
Disdission - an idea for book
covers, was a little girl sitting on a
chair doing embroidery work. The
uses of the satin stitch and sheaf
filling stitch was discussed by the
leaders. For Achievement Day,
Clara Milligan is to be commentat-
or. Selecting stitches for the free
choice article was discussed.
The leaders demonstrated the
French knot and in group work we
practised- making French knots.
For home assignment we were to
work on record book, complete our
samplers, learner stitches article

We opened the sixth meeting
with the 4-H pledge. Roll call was
bread or a main, ingredient. Ten
members answered the roll call.'
The next meeting is on November.

Bread and bread from other lands.
VanOsch demonstrated how
to make Swedish tea rings, Chelsea
buns and Hungarian bubble ring.
In group work we helped make a
ball for the Hungarian bubble
rings. We' saw the dough rise and
then baked in the oven. Mrs. Evers
gave, us a recipelor the play dough.
We closed the meeting with the
4-H motto.

with 4-H creed.

November '1 at the home of Mrs.

members giving an idea where
French knots are used. Lori Ann
Jamieson read the minutes. The
next meeting will be held Novemb-
er 5 at the home of Clara Milligan
at 7 p.M.
A work meeting is to be held
November 12 'at the home of Lori
Purdon. The discussion centred on
the use of French knots.
The demonstration , and group
work was the assembling of the
free choice article, suggested
finishing edge for free choice
article and our book covers. The
meeting closed with 4-H creed.
