Ken MacKay then introduced the valedictorian Gail Messenger. The Mass Choir, under the direction of Arlene Tranter and Carol. MacKay, sang three selec- tions, "Let Me Be There", !`The Way We Were", "A Time For Us" and the graduates joined in singing the R.D.H.S. School Song. After the Recessional a reception was arranged by the teachers and then there was a dance to music by Clifford Emmerton; A special thank you goes to the people who played in the prelude. They were Dawna Rutledge, Mike Pollock, Jane Ann Coiling and Ann Farrell. Also a thank you goes to the boys who helped arrange the chairs and clear them away for the dance. These boys were Jamie Gallant, Rick Rock, Brian Huston, Ron Lofton, Ken Finlayson, Brian Lowry and Joe Fry and to the girls who ushered and gave out pro- grams, Mary Margaret Smith, Helen Culbert and Allison Mac- Kay. The trip Was part of their history course this year. The trip was enjoyed by the students as it was a very - interesting experience. RUNNERS-UP On Saturday, October 25 the C.W.O.S.S.A. Volleyball was held in Walkerton District Secondary School. Both our Junior Girls and Senior Boys were involved in the Mr. and Mrs. Tim Collyer of Alliston have been 'holidaying the past week with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Collyer, Lucknow. They spent the, previous week in Long Beach, California, with Mr. and Mrs. Al Martin and Ned Martin. , James Culbert, Lucknow'," 'is now a patient in Wingham and District Hospital. He was previously in University Hospital, London for three months: Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Neabel of Lucknow, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Bennewies of eaforth attended the Neabel family supper at Thornbury Restaurant and also spent the week end at the home of their brother, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Neabel. Five ladies of St. Augustine Catholic Women's League attend- ed the Deanery meeting at Mount Cannel on Monday, October 20th. They were president, Mrs. Joe. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hackett, Lucknow,. returned on Sunday from a holiday trip to Vancouver where they visited for three weeks with their daughter, Freda and Clare Spicer and Cindy. Nine members of the Lucknow Skating Club, Nancy Haldenby, Cheryl Haidenby, Sandra Irwin, Nancy Thompson, Tom Barger, Linda Campbell, Joan Hamilton, John Barger and Patti Barger attended a' Coaches Clinic at Howick Community Centre on Sunday. competition. In their first match the girls came up against Erin winning two games to one. Then they played 'St. David's and unfortunately 'the St. DaVid's team came out on top, two games in a row. Once again' the girls played Erin and were success- ful in winning "two games straight. In the final match Ripley came up against St. David's. St. David's took the first two , games straight and Ripley took the next two. This made it necessary for a fifth game to be played. Smith of Downsview and Irene Button of Dundas visited for a few days with their mother, Mrs. Evelyn Barkwell of Lucknow, and took her out for birthday supper October 23rd. Visiting on the week end with Tom Salkeid in' .Lucknow were his two daughters Dr. Helen Salkeld of North Gower and Mrs. Margaret Schmidt of Calgary, Alberta and Izzy Creelman of North Gower. The Senior Boys played Chesley in their first match and lost 2 games straight. They played Burford in their next match and won two games straight. The boys- came up against Chesley again in the final match. They put up a good fight but Chesley won three games to one. The boys also received the title of Runners-Up at C. W .0. S. S . A . Congratulations go to both the Juniors and Seniors for doing a great job, in Volleyball this year. Talent is a necessity, but a little patience is worth more. ZION Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Ritchie and Mel had as Sunday visitors her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Jack McLean and Donald of Wroxeter. Mrs. Douglas Raynard and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McAllister of Auburn spent Sunday in Waterloo visiting her aunt, Mrs. Florence Dahmer and also her grandmother, Mrs. Mable Mac- Kenzie in the Freeport Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Pollard of Ripley visited Sunday with his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Helm and family: Mr. and Mrs. Russel Swan and family had his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Swan and Marylin, Michael and Gwen 'of Cambridge Galt on Sunday.
