Harvey Hall of East Detroit,
Michigan, a native of this commun-
ity, underwent open heart surgery
on August' 15th. Harvey had
suffered a heart attack at work on
June 6th and it was found that two
major arteries were almost Com-
pletely, blocked. Veins from his
legs were used to replace the
damaged arteries. Harvey is
progressing quite well but it will be
some time before he will, be able to
return to work.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hawley and
family of Oshawa spent the week
e with Mrs. Lorne Woods,
ucknow.
Mrs. Gord Walters of Goderich,
daughter of Lorne Parrish, Luck-
now, was the winner of $1300 in the
Legion's 50-50 draw in Goderich
last Saturday night.
Mrs. ley Houston, Willough-
by Street, Lucknow, attended the
Northern Convention of Women's
Institutes at Rosseau, in the
Muskoka district, guest of Mrs.
Harry Smith, Utterson, the Area
Public Relations Officer. She was
accompanied by Mrs: Howard
Clark, Owen Sound. They visited
with Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Napper
at Barrie on Sunday, returning to-
Owen Sound Tuesday evening..
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Mole,
Lucknow visited on Sunday at
Courtright with Mr. and Mrs. Don
Mole, Danny, Shawn, and Donnie.
They attended the Apaloosa saddle
club's final fun day for the season.
Don, Danny and Shawn-have done
real well with their horses this
summer: The three of them
finished in top place for the trophy
in their respective classes.

Mr. and Mrs. Orville Welsh of
Wingham, Mrs. John Emerson of
Lucknow, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne
Nixon, Bradley and Larry of Ripley
were recent visitors with Mr. 'and
Mrs. ,Ralph Nixon, Belfast.
Mr. and Mrs. Chris Raynard and
Kathy of Aylmer were Saturday
visitors in Lucknow with his
parents Mr.' and Mrs. Nelson
Raynard: Monday visitors were
Mr. and Mrs. George Twamley of
Listowel.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Brown,_
Lucknow, have returned home from
a 15 day tour of Scotland and
England. While in London,
England, they enjoyed a visit with
Mr. and Mrs. Jack McDonagh, also
of Lucknow who have been on a
tour and who plan to return home
this. week.
Mrs. William Blue of Detroit was
a visitor last week end in Lucknow
with Mrs. Cameron MacDonald.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter MacDonald
and Mr. and Mrs. Andrevd Ritchie
of Lucknow were visitors last week
end in Nieamington with their
sister-in-law Mrs. Edith MacDon-
ald.
Mrs. L. R. Campbell of Ashfield
has' returned to her h..me after
being a patient in Humber Memor-
ial Hospial in Weston where she
underwent surgery..
Mrs. Harvey Houston, Public
Relations Officer with the. Federat-
ed Women's Institutes of Ontario,
attended the Huron County W.I.
Rally at Belgrave on Monday,
October 6th.
Mrs. Orville Jones of Lucan and
formerly ,of Lucknow is a' patient in
St. Joseph's Hospital, London.
Mrs. Jack McKim, District
Commissioner of Maitee District of
.the Girl Guides, attended. Conimis-
sionees Training in Kitchener on
