The election of officers took place. The officers 'are as follows: president, Rosemary Foran; vice president, Gorden Kinahan; , treas- urer, Anne Boyle; secretary, Mary Ellen. Foran; phone girl, Pat Boyle The president .discussed attend- ance at the meetings and entry fees. Plans were made for a Hallowe'en Turkey Bingo on Oct- ober 24th in the church basement. Plans for the year also include skating, bowling, carolling, card parties and a spring dance. Kingsbridge Twenty-two members answered the roll call for the October meeting of the Kingsbridge C.W.L. in the Church Hall with Mrs. Eugene Frayne presiding. Mrs. Tom Hogan led in the league prayer and gave a .scripture reading. Mrs. Hogan reported on the presenta- tion of a statue to. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Christie (nee Lea Van Diepan). Mrs. Eugene Frayne gave a brief outline of the Thankoffering held at Trinity Church, October 5th.. Carmel, Ontario; and the Deanary meeting at' 'Delaware November 4th. Mrs. Dennis ChamPagne read the roll call. Christian Family Life convener, Mrs. Joe Courtney gave the pro-life report. Convenerships for Community Life and Cultural Life were given by Mrs. Carl Riegling and Mrs. John Howard respectively. President, Mrs. Eugene Frayne, discussed the' upcoming Deanary meeting at Mt. Carmel, : the need for clothing to be sent to Combermere and also mentioned that work had commenced on the kitchen floor. Mrs. Bill Berry adjourned the meeting followed by prayers. Whitec hurch Y.P,S WHITECHURCH NEWS VVhitechurch 'Young Peoples Soc- iety held its second meeting at Langside Church on Sunday even- ing, October 5 with an attendance of 23. Hilda de Boer was organist. The meeting opened with a sing song. , Fred de Boer had charge of the service with the topic Miracles. He read scripture from St. John, chapter 10 and led in prayer. All then formed in discnssion groups. The offering was received and dedicated by Fred de Boer. The secret. y, Wendy Kay, read the minutes. The executive meeting was discussed. Another sing song was enjoyed and games were played. Grace was sung. Lunch was served and fellowship was' enjoyed by' all. Shows Slides Of Africa Trip The South Kinloss Women's Missionary Society was held at the homent.Mrs. _Frank. MacKenzie on Wednesday, October 1st. The meeting opened with a call to worship by the president, followed by the singing of the hymn, "All good gifts around us" and prayer' by Mrs. ,Ira Dickie. The scripture; Luke 17; 11-19, was read by Mrs. Leonard Clarke, and the meditation on Thanksgiving by Mrs Bruce Hamilton, the prayer by Mrs. Lloyd MacDougall. An invitation from Kinlough W.M.S. to meet with them October 15th at 8 pun. for their Thankoffer- ing was accepted. A Rally Will be held in Wingham October 22 at 8 p.m. The. C.G.I.T. will hold a. special Thanksgiving service in Sath Kinloss Church, Sunday, October 12, at the morning service at 12.30. The' roll call was answered by. 22 members and 2 . visitors. A chorus of 5 members, . "Thanks be to God", accompanied by Mrs. Jack. Needham, was rendered. Miss Ruth Thompson was intro- duced td the meeting by Mrs. Bruce. Hamilton.. Miss Thompson showed a film and gave a very interesting commentary of her recent trip to Nairobi, Kenya. The offering was received, Mrs. Philip Steer gave the Offertory Prayer. The hymn, "We praise Thee 0 .God" was sung. Mrs. Jim Burt gave the courtesy remarks, f011owed with the closing hymn, "Now thank we all our God", and, the closing prayer by Mrs. Herb Buckton: Grace was sung and lunch served by the: hostess and directors Mrs. Bruce Hamilton, Mrs. Jack Need- ham and Mrs. Jim Burt. •
