Kinloss Man
Died At Age 68
Theunis (Thomas) Dykstra of
Kinloss Township passed away at
Wingham and District Hospital on
Tuesday, September 23rd in his
69th year.
The late Mr. Dykstra was born in
Holland on May 27th, 1907.
He has made his home with his
sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Jelle de Jong of Kinloss
Township.
The funeral service was held at
MacKenzie Memorial Chapel,
Lucknow on' Thursday, September
25th. Rev . L. Van Staalduinen,
minister of Lucknow. Christian
Reformed Church was minister.
Interment waS in Kinloss Cem-
etery.

Week end with Mr. and Mrs.
Francis Boyle were their three
eldest ehildren Brian of Guelph,
Bonnie of Hamilton and Kerry of
Guelph;. also Miss Janet Lackner of
Ottawa and Guelph spent the week
end with the Boyles.
Mrs. Mae Dore won the first
prize with her commercial float
entry, "Ding-Dong, Avon Calling"
in the Ripley Fall Fair parade,
I Mrs. Dore is the Avon Representa-
tive in' Ripley and surrounding
area.

Kim a happy birthday. She was
three on September 29.

SCHOOL OPENS
On September 2, Ripley-Huron
Central School opened, its doors
commence another school year.
Some changes have occurred
since the school closed for the
holidays in June.
The enrolment has declined
slightly. 295 children were
registered in June. At present 283

pupils are attending 'the school.
This decline is due to the fact. that
some of the children in the sixth
grade have joined the elementary
section at Ripley District School.
There are two new full-time
teachers on staff. Mrs. Susan
Burns has taken over the position
formerly held by Miss Elaine ,Ellis
who transferred 'to Elgin Market
chool, Kincardine. Mrs. Betty
Johnson has :replaced Mrs. Cheryl
MacKenzie who has retired from
teaching. ”
Parents will 'have an opportunity
to meet the new teachers at the
school on October 8, at Meet-the-
Teacher Night.
