If you are 65 or older, you are
probably entitled to Ontario's new
Senior Citizens' Privilege Card.
These are the privileges
Ontario offers you.
There's a new.Ontario Senior Citizens'
Privilege Card, which has been sent to
759,000 Ontario residents aged 65 and
older. It replaces the monthly drug benefit
card issued by the Ministry of'.Health.
In addition to free OHIP services, the
card provides more than 1500 free pre-
scription'drugs to all seniors receiving
federal Old'Age Security or Ontario •
Guaranteed Annual Income System
(GAINS) cheques.
The new Privilege Card offers identi-
fication for:
• Free admission to all Ontario provincial
parks.
• Pree or reduced admission to many
historical, cultural and recreational sites,
such as Ontario Place, the Ontario
Science Centre, Upper Canada Village
and the Royal Botanical Gardens.
• Special senior citizens discounts at many
business establishments.
• Special senior citizens rates on certain
public transit systems. (Check with your
local transit system to see if it offers
these.) '
• Participation in community activities and
centres for senior citizens.
If you are presently receiving your
monthly drug benefit card, you should
receive your Senior Citizens' Privilege
Card automatically. Sign it immediately.
Without your signature, you cannot use the
card.
If you are 65 or older, and have lived in
Ontario for 12 months or more but have not
received your card by September 30, write
to:

Ontario for less than 12 months, you may
apply for a temporary Privilege Card. It will

Nifty Needlers
The fourth . meeting of, the
Kairshea Nifty Needlers, was held
at the home of Sandra Keith on
Wednesday, September 24 at 7.30
p.m, The meeting began with the
pledge which was followed by Mary.
Ann Ritchie reading the minutes of
the last meeting. , • -
The roll call was "Show design
ideas for free choice article". It
was answered by six girls.
Sandra , showed pictures of the
different kinds of articles we could
do- and Mrs. Ritchie showed some
pictures or designs we could do' on,
them. The leaders shoWed us how
to do the couching crossed stitch
and the couching outline stitch.
The next meeting will be field at
the home of Bonnie Clark on
Thursday, October 2 at 7.30 p.m.
Snappy
Stitchers
The Clover Valley 7 Snappy
Stitchers held their fourth meeting
on Monday, September 29th at 7.1S
at the home of Donna Elphick.
To start the meeting off we
• repeated the 4-H pledge followed
by the toll call "Show design ideas
for free choice article",, which was
answered by all members. Joan
Osborne read the minutes of the
last meeting which were approved
as read. We also had a treasurer's
report given by the treasurer. The
next meeting is being hosted by
JoAnn Van Diepan at on
Monday, October 6th.
' Mrs. Hamilton discussed uses
for the twisted chain stitch and the
free choice article. Mrs. Elphick
discussed designs for the free
choice articles. Both leaders
demonstrated the couching crossed
and couching outline stitches. •
. For group work we did the two
stitches on our samplers and
designed our free choice articles.
We closed the meeting with the
4-H Motto.
Zippy Trinettes
The fourth meeting of the Zippy
Trinettes 2 was held on September
23 at 7-.00 p.m. at the home of Mrs.
Campbell with seven members
present,
The leader, Mrs. Campbell,
called the meeting to order and all
members stood and repeated the
4-H pledge.
The roll call, "Bring and show a'.
food label from 'a convenience yeast
product used in' your home" was
answered by all members present.
Darlene Hackett read the minut-
es of the last meeting and Janice
Hackett volunteered to read the
minutes for the next meeting.
Mrs. Hackett discussed, "The
Goodness of 'Bread" and "The
Food Guide for Health". Mrs.
Campbell discussed, "Sweet
Doughs for Rolls and Buns" and
"Sour Dough Bread". The
questions for the subject .matter
were taken -tip.
Mrs. Campbell had the dough
ready for shaping and the girls
helped shape the dough into rolls
and buns. Mrs. Campbell then
demonstrated ho*w to make sour
dough starter.

Aro
The second meeting of Reids
Corners 4-H. Club was held on
September 23 at our leader's, Mrs.
Courtney.
We opened our meeting with the
4-H pledge. Four members
answered the roll call. Laurie
Gibson was ejected as our presid-
ent.
Our leaders showed us how, to
begin to embroider and then how to
do the backstitch.. Each of ' the
members then did the backstitch on
our. sampler. We began our
"Learning Stitches" article and the
meeting was then adjourned.
Knifty Kneaders
The second meeting was held at
the home of Mrs. Van Osch and
was opened with the 4-H pledge.
11 members answered the roll, call
with the basic ingredient in bread
and what it does. The name for the
club was discussed and decided on,
Knifty Kneaders.
Mrs. Van' Osch demonstrated
how to roll the dough into a loaf and
we Made rolls and baked them. We
all had a sample of the whole wheat
bread and thought it was good.
The meeting closed with 0 Canada.
Doo-Nuts
The fourth meeting of Dungan-
non I 441 club, DoO-Nuts, opened
with the pledge. Nine members
answered the roll call, which was to
bring a convenient yeast product
wrapper used at home. Kathy
Pentland read the minutes of. the
last meeting.. Press reporter and
Secretary for this week is Judy
Godfrey.
For demon station the girls made
Bear Claws., Buiterhorns, Snails,
Bowknots, Figure 8's, Fan Tans,
Parkerhouse rolls and Cloverleaf
rolls, which they plan to eat at the,
next meeting held on Wednesday,
October 1 at 7.30 at the home of
Mrs. Bev Maclnnes.
Zippy Trinettes
The fourth, meeting of Trinity No.
1 4-H club •was held at Mrs.
Andrew's for' the Zippy Trinettes.
The vice president opened the
meeting with the 4-H pledge with 6
Members present.
Roll call was, Bring one labp1 of a
convenience yeast product used in
your home. Each girl brought a
label.
Janet Wilkins read the minutes.
Next meeting is at Mrs. Camer-
on's.
Each girl demonstrated a fanpy
roll. Mrs. Cameron discussed sour
.dough.
