ing toward her Bachelor of Science
in Agriculture. She intends to
become a veterinarian'. She was
the Clinton Centennial Queen this
year. Jo-Anne becomes eligible to
enter the 1976 Miss Dominion of
Canada contest, held each year at
Niagara Falls.
She was named 'on Saturday by
Miss Dominion of Canada who
spent the day in Lucknow' with the
girls and acted as one of the judges
of the contest. The other judges
were Mr. and Mrs. Ted Glincan of
the Hamilton area.
Second place winner in the
competition was Karen de Jong,
age 17, 'of .Exeter, Miss Exeter of
1974. Karen is a _grade 12 student
at Exeter High School and is the
daughter of Mrs. Klara de Jong of
that coffinunity. As evidence of
Karen's popularity, she was voted
Miss Congeniality by the other 17
girls in the contest. The judges
play no part in this award and each
girl is asked to mark her choice
individually. '
Third place in the contest was'
won by Jo-Anne Snell, 19, of
Londesboro, daughter .of Mr.' and
Mrs. Raymond Snell. Jo-Anne is
student at St. Marys Hospital in
Kitchener. She was the Clinton
Winter Carnival Queen.
Bob Finlay acted as master of
ceremonies for the evening and
Charles Webster, responsible for
this competition since' its begin-
ning, again acted as the "behind
the scenes" organizer for the whole
event which has grown' to be one of
the most widely accepted and
envied competitions in Western
Ontario. •
The first place winner received
$50 and the opportunity to compete
in the Miss Dominion of Canada
contest and to enjoy an expense
paid week at this pageant. ,Second
place winner received $25 and the
third place winner, $15. Each of
the other girls received a gift.
The other girls in the contest,
and the community they represent-
ed, were Grace Reinders of
Couple Married
25 Years
Mr. and Mrs. Wellington Web-
ster of the Amberley area celebrat-
ed their 25th wedding anniversary
Saturday evening, September 20th
by having dinner at the Candlelight
Inn at Goderich.
They were accompanied by their
daughter and son-in-law, 'Mr. and
Mrs. Atlee (Jean) Wise and their
granddaughter Tricia, of Richfield,
Ohio'; their two sons, James of
Kitchener and Cecil; Mrs. Viola
Farquhar and Mrs. Norma Young
of Goderich. The actual date of the
wedding anniversary was on Aug-
ust 19th.

Mr. and Mrs. Russell Good of
Londesboro visited Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Lyons, West
Wawanosh.
Mrs. Muriel Sparkes of London
was .a recent visitor with her sister,
Mrs. Fred McQuillin.
Mrs. Andrevv Gaunt is a patient
in Wingham and District Hospital.
Fern. Kragt of British Columbia
is visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Wim
de Boer.
Frank Mewhinney is a patient in ,
University Hospital, London having
been admitted Thursday. '
Mrs. Lorne Forster attended a
relative shower for her niece June
Elliott, bride-elect, on Friday
evening at Mrs. Vernon Hodgins at
Bervie.

Died Suddenly
MRS LORNE HASTY
The community .was saddened to
learn, of the sudden death of Mrs.
Lorne Hasty of R. R. 1 Dungannon
on Wednesday, September 10th in.
Victoria Hospital, London. She was
in her 55th year.
Mrs.. Hasty, a nurse 'for'thirty-
one years, was the fimner Audrey
Isabella Congram, daughter of
Mrs. Gordon (Pearl Ivers) Congram
and the late Mr. Congram of R. R.
1 Dungannon. She was born in
Ashfield Township on April 13,
'1921.
On November 14, 1951 at
Dungannon. United Church, she
married Lorne Hasty.
Besides her husband, Mrs.'
Hasty is survived by a daughter
Irene of Regina, Saskatchewan,
one son Brock at home; her mother,
Mrs. Gordon congram, and one
sister, Mrs. Nelson (Gloria) Pear-
son of. R. R. 1 Dungannon.
The funeral service was held at
MacKenzie Memorial Chapel.,
Lucknow on Saturday, September
13th. Rev. H. G. Dobson was
minister.
• Pallbearers were Grant' Curran,
Jim Drennan, Tom Culbert, Roy
Wintemute, Derk Logtenberg, Jim
Boak Jr.
Flower bearers were Donald
Curran, Mark Berger, Chester
Finnigan, Benson Shackleton. .
Interment was in Dungannon
Cemetery.

THE ANNUAL MUNICIPAL
ENUMERATION
IS UNDER WAY
The annual municipal enumeration began on Friday, September 19, 1975
and will continue this week. This municipal enumeration is separate and
diStinct from the ,recent provincial enumeration which was conducted, for
the provincial election. During the week, an enumerator, carrying a proper
identification card, will call at your residence for a few minutes to check
basic information required in determining:
• the allocation of education property taxes betWeen the public and
separate school. systems;
• the distribution of provincial grants to local governments to help reduce
local tax bills;
• the preparation of jurors' lists; and
• population info(mation needed fOr other municipal programS.
The enumerator must record such information as the name, age, property
status (e.g. owner or tenant), school support and residency of all mem-
bers of the household. •
When the enumerator visits, please check that the information on the •
Enumeration Notice is correct. If it is not, revise it and verify the changes.
If You are not home, a Notice will be left for you. If changes are necessary,
please make them and mail the EnUrneration Notice in the self addressed
postage prepaid envelope 'accompanying the Notice. For any additional
information, please contact the local assessment office.
