popular one to • the voters of
Huron-Bruce as verified in subse-
quent elections. He had•a majority
of 3191 in 1967, 8618 in 1971 and
last week's majority of 10,393.
Huron-Bruce was enlarged, be-
fore this election with the additions
being the towns of Port Elgin and
Southampton and the townships of
Saugeen,' Bullet and McKillop.
Gaunt showed strength in all five,
as well as all other municipalities.
Murray is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. AndreW Gaunt of' West
Wawariosh Township. He and his
wife Pat and two children, Steph-
anie and Steven, reside in Wing-
ham.
The final standing across Ontar-
io, pending recounts, shows the
Progressive Conservatives forming
a minority government with 51
seats. The NDP formed the official
opposition -winning 38 seats with
the Liberals netting 36 seats and
losing their status as opposition
party.
The PC's captured 36% of the
popular vote, the NDP 29% and the
Liberals 34%, which doesn't reflect
similarly in the seats won.
