The event is slated for Lucknow Fall Fair this Saturday, September 20th. THAT An old copy of the Farmer's Advocate, dated February 11, 1904, was recently brought to The Sentinel by Harry Lavis of Luck- now. The magazine is in amazingly good condition and contains a wealth of interesting and, nowa- days amusing, advertisements. One • such advertisement was for electric foot batteries, 50c a pair, stating that "More people die every year in consequence of cold feet and limbs than any other cause". A herb company in Toronto was advertising their herbs' which would cure' Constipation, Rheumatism, Sick Headaches, Dyspepsia, Nervous Troubles, Kid- ney Disorder, Liver Complaint, Stomach Trouble, Female Com- plaints, Catarrh, Neuralgia and all skin diseases. , $1 would buy enough to keep youin shape for 200 days. As well, of course, the magazine had many fine articles and advertisements of the latest in farm sales and products. Harry Lavis stored the magazine in a colony house he uses as a tool shed behind his home and /which came to town .when Harry sold the farm. According to Harry, the magazine is 20 days older than he is.
