NEW FACES
There seems', to be quite a few
new faces around the school this
year, 'some belonging to teachers
but most of them belonging to new
students: We have 26 new Grade 9
people join our student body this
year. We are pleased to see them
and we all hope to get to know them
better as the year progresses.
We have 4 new" teachers in the
school. Mrs. Birnie is acting in, the
capacity of our librarian. Mrs.
Huston has taken Over dUtiesas an
English, Consumer Education, Ec-
onomics,, and Geography teacher:
Mr. Greenwood is teaching the
Grade 8 class and Mr. Richards is
teaching Grade 6/7.
Not only do we have new faces
but we also have a new building.
We acquired a double-portable
during the summer. It is our
library., It is very spacious for
study-periods.
TEACHERS
We have a 'great line ,up of
teachers in these hallowed halls of
learning for the next year. With
the four • new additions and the
other eight teachers, we should be
guided through our education with
,,much skill and patience.
ELECTIONS .
Once more it is election time at
R.D.S. • The student body is
electing a new exeQutive. This is a
pleasant job Since last year's
students' council of Janice Reeves,
president; Carol MacKay, vice;
Barb Grubb, secretary and Julie'
McGuire, treasurer are going to
have the students' council very
neat and organized. So it won't be
hard for the next executive to 'pick
up from where they left off.

Thursday, September 11. Those
nominated for president were Ken
MacKay and Mike Gallant; vice
president were Kevin Cook and
Donna Gallant; secretary nomina-
tions were Jane Ann Colling,

treasurer were Heather Boyle and
Laurie Colling, Since the Provin-
cial election is on September 18, we
decided to have ours then too, We
will be having our barbecue and
hearing the candidates speak on
Wednesday, September 17. I
would like to personally say good
luck and may the person who will
do the best job win!
