end. Word was received here
about 7 a.m. Saturday when
Russell phoned his mother, Mrs.
John Barr of Kinlough. Her death
occurred in Parkland Hospital
there.
Barbara, who is about 40 years of
age, is the daughter 'of Dr. and
Mrs. Austin Carbert, long time
residents of Elmira. Her father is a
dentist. She was one of triplets and
was raised at Elmira. Russell and
Barbara have a son Darrell 13 and
daughter Cynthia, age 11. Her
sisters are Mrs. Allan (Molly) Mills
of London and Mrs. Bob .(Corinne)

DeLeuw Cather Co. of Toronto and
was working at their Durban
branch office. He had attended
public school in Kinloss, and

been to remain until mid summer
1976 before returning to their •
Toronto area home.

weeks but her death was unexpect-
ed. An autopsy Monday revealed
the cause of death as an abscess at
the centre of the brain which could
have been caused by a fall or
childhood injury.

Monday in South Africa. A family
memorial service will be held
today, Wednesday, at Trinity
United Church in Elmira.

The machinery is' in place for
more than five million qualified
voters to. cast their ballot in
Ontarie's .30th general election this
Thursday, September 18th.
A work force of about 40,000 has
been employed as deputy returning
officers, poll clerks and other
personnel required for. efficient
election administration by Return-
ing ' Officers in 125 electoral
districts.
They are working with millionS of
forms and other necessary docu-
ments distributed from the Ontario
Election Office in Toronto.
The "reverse print" ballot
design introduced in the 1971
general election is being used
again for this . election.
Prior to 1971, ballots were mostly
white with black printing, enabling
a voter to mark an "x" in places
other than a circle opposite .a
candidate's name.
To reduce the number of spoiled
ballots, the ballots now are, entirely
black except for candidate's nam-
es, numbered consecutively ,in
alphabetical order by surname, and
a circle opposite each name -- all in
