ating the•altar, was the setting for
the marriage of Brenda J. Ritchie
—and Nitholas- Barclay_on
Saturday, June 28 at 7 p.m.
Rev. Doug Kanftnan officiated at
the double ring ceremony.
The bride is a daughter of Mr.
and Mri..Clarence*Ritchie, R. R. 5
Lucknow, The groom's parents are
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barclay,
Toronto.
The bride.choSe a gown of white
polyester
satin with lace inserts at
the waist, and V-neck. Her short
sheer sleeves and'self train were
trimmed. with tiny white appliqued'
butterflies and her short veil was
caught up -with tiny butterflies to
match the dress.. She carried a
dozen long-stemmed, yellow roses.
Mary Ann 'Ritchie of R. R. 5
Lucknow was her sister's maid of
honour'. She wore% a two-piece
ensemble, a blouse , of . yelloW
„flower-printed crepe with short
puff sleeves and frill at the waist,
buttoned doWn the front and round
collar, and full length skirt of
matching crepe. A wide-brimmed
yellow 'hat 'completed her outfit.
She carried a basket of white
daisies.. •
Groomsman was 'Peter Briggs of
Toronto. . Ushers were Donald
Ritchie of R. R, 5 Lucknow and.
Benjamin' Barclay of Toronto.
Wedding music was supplied by
Mrs. Beth Payne, of Gorrie.
A reception followed at Lucknow
Public School.
The bride's mother wore a long
sleeveless gown of robin egg blue
polyester • crepe with rounded
neckline' and long-sleeved white
flowered crepe jacket and corsage
of yellow carnations.
The groom's mother wore a
long-sleeved street-length dress of
yellow chiffon; with frill around the
V-neckline and cuffs. She wore a
matching hat and corsage of yellow
carnations.
Guests were present from Peter-
borough, Toronto, Ottawa, Kitch-
ener, Seaforth, Listowel, Sarnia,
St. Thomas, Wingham and Luck-
:now.
The groombas been employed at
York Farms, Brantford and the
bride at .Brantford General Hospit-
al.
The couple, both graduates of
Centralia College of Agricultural
Technology, Huron Park, left
August 14th for Ghana, Africa,
where they will be teaching for two
years.

-churches in Edson, Alberta; Reg-
ina, Saskatchewan; and Leighton,
Iowa, before going to. Lodi, N.J.
The" Van Staalduinens have two
sons and two daughters. The
Lucknow congregation had been
Vacant since January and looked
forward to the coming of another
minister.
In spite of the very warm
weather, On .August 1, a good
number of • families and visitors'
from neighbouring Christian Re-
formed Churches came out, for the
installation • Service. Rev. T.
Hoegsteen of Blyth was in charge
of the service. He read the "FOrm
for the installation of ministers of
God's Word". Rev. Van Dijk of
Listowel read the charge to the.new
minister and Ben Malda read the •
charge to the congregation: "to
receive the minister in the Lord
with , all joy; and hOld such in
honor". The congregation re-
sponded' in singing the hymn, "I
love Thy Kingdom, Lord". ,
To challenge the new pastor for
the task that awaited him, Rev. J.
Roeda of Exeter delivered a short
message based on Romans 15:
22-33, "the Fulness of the Blessing
of the Gospel". Then the choir, the
Joyful 'Voices, rendered- two num-
bers, after which a personal word
of welcome was given to Rev. Van
Staalduinen and his family by -a
dele:gate of Classis Huron. Ben
Malda also spoke words of welcome
in name of'the Lucknow congrega-
tion. After the service a social hour
Was enjoyed in the church fellow-
ship' room.
On Sunday morning. August 3,
the Rev. Van Staalduinen preached
his inaugural sermon. The church
was filled to capacity and the
recently completed balcony. with
seventy extra seats, was put to
good use.
The new pastor spoke of his main
goal of preaching the GoSpel, but
alSo the hopes and expectations he
- held for the Lie-know congregation.
He based his theme, "that„ God
grant you the riches of His grace",
On Ephegians 3: 8-21. He said that
minister and congregation were
standing on a threshold of a new
relationship and fellowship.
"Faith is exercised as a church, the '
b6dy of Christ; together We work
and believe; we have respect and
appreciation for each other. The
Gospel is proclaimed by ordinary
men, the Grace of God uses
ordinary people for His service.
Together we dedicate ourselves 'to
