ladies of the Ripley-Huron Legion
Auxiliary in the Legion Hall. In the
evening a reception dance was held
in the Huron ToArnship hall with
Cliff Emmerton's orchestra from
Pine River playing. Ron and Julie
will, reside in their new home on the
second concession 'eaSt of Olivet.

Florida in winter and some Florida
folks comae north to Ontario in
summer to visit friends. Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon,Scott of Ripley have
had her sister, husband and
daughter and family visiting with
them up till last week end when
they motored home. Mr. and Mrs.
Emerson Morris, and daughter and
husband, Donald and Georgia
Ketchum and family, all of Vero
Beach in the Indian River area,
halfway down the Atlantic side of,
Florida, have been visiting" with
Gordon and Vera Scott. Mrs. Scott
and Mrs. Morris are sisters, being
formerly Vera and Ida Hill of
Langside. Mr. Morris is a retired
banker from Chicago. ,

Mrs, John Nother, the former
Ethel Farrell, along with her /three
children, Kim, John, D., and Michael, are visiting with ' her
mother, Mrs. Herb Farrell in
Ripley. Also with her brother, wife
and family, •Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Farrell at the home farm on
concession 12 east in Huron
Township. She is also visiting with
her sisters. In this Ripley area
they are Eileen, Mrs. Gordon
Emmerton at the Beach,, west end
of concession , 6; and Jean, Mrs.
John MacDonald at the south end
of Ripley. Her daughter Kim met
her mother and brothers here on
her return from a student exchange
,trip to Newfoundland. Ethel • and
family are here from Edmonton.

Presently on a motor vacation
trip are Mr. and Mrs. Burton •
Collins of Purple Grove. Katherine
and Burton left a week ago, taking,
the boat trip from Tobermory to
South Bay Mouth. Here they
planned to see the different areas
of Manitotilin Island and from there
to Northern Ontario and Western
Canada.

Last Thursday morning at twenty
after ten, a 'Bruce Lines Coach bus
from " Kincardine left the Legion
Hall in Ripley for the C.N.E.
grounds in Toronto:' It was one of
the big Scottish days down at the
Ex featuring some of the top Pipe
Bands in the world. One of those in
charge of the arrangements for the
trip was Reg Moore. At twenty
minutes past two Friday morning,
the bus arrived back at the Legion
Hall - many' .happy hearts or
contented minds on seeing a great
day at the Ex, tired bodies and
aching feet. Grace Murray and
Fran Wylds spotted a former area
man and chatted with him for a few
minutes. He was Malcolm
Finlayson, formerly of Loehalsh.
Malcolm was • in charge of a
commercial display in the Horticul-
tural building.

Recently,, Norman and Mabel
Barnard of Ripley and their
granddaughter Shannon Burnham
of Kincardine took a vacation trip to
the Georgian Bay area. From
Ripley to Midland they took their
car and from Midland it was a boat
cruise to the Thirty Thousand
Islands, in Georgian, Bay. _ •
Mrs. Grace Keane of Listowel
has been visiting for the past
couple of weeks with Mrs.. Adeline
Hackett in Ripley and, Mrs.
Florence MacKenzie of Lochalsh.
Miss Linda Ford of Coburg is
visiting with her grandmother and
aunt in Ripley,. Mrs. Mary Robert-
son and Miss Christena Robertson..
