their annual picnic.

attended a Tupperware Party at the
home of Mrs. Wayne Rhody on
Monday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Allan McFarlan
and Brian Percy went on a trip to
Western Canada. Donnie and
Beverley McFarlan are with their
grandparents,' Mr. and Mrs. Weir
Eckenswiller.
Lois Nicholson returned home
after visiting with Linda and Lisa
Evans at Erin. .
Larry Evans, who spent the past ^
week here, returned home on

from Sarnia where he spent a few
days..

BRIDAL SHOWER
Holyrood Hall, decorated with
streamers, flowers and wedding
bells, made a lovely setting for a
bridal shower for Miss Charlene
Harrison of concession 10. Mrs.
Midford Wall was chairlPdy and .
extended , a hearty welcome to
everyone,and on behalf of Mrs. Reg
Brown thanked all who assisted
with the shower and the program,
which was as, follows: Miss May
Boyle sang a self composed song to
the bride and groom, and led a sing
song. Mrs. Delbert Hedley gave a
reading "How to preserve a
husband". Caryn Nicolson did
some baton twirling.
Mrs. Bill MacPherson gave a
humorous reading "The Wed-
ding". Lois Hanna, Lynne
Nicolson and Mrs. Fred Page sang
in a trio, and Lois _and Lynne
favoured with a duet. Mrs.
Midford Wall tested our wit with
some riddles. Mrs. Fred Page and
Mrs. Bill MacPherson favoured
with two vocal dUets with Mrs.
MacPherson playing the accom-
paniment.
As the Wedding March was
played the bride was escorted to
the platform and an addreSs of,
good wishes .was read by Mrs. Reg
Brown. Miss Jane Harrison helped
to open the gifts and Miss Brenda
Ross read the attached verses.
Assisting with the gifts were
Tammy Hodgins, Diane Haldenby,
Valerie Brown and Sherri Wall.
Charlene then expressed thanks
to everyone for the lovely gifts and
to the ladies who had arranged her ,
shower. For She's a Jolly Good
Fellow was sung with Miss Edna
Boyle at the piano. Delicious
refreshments were 'served and a
social time enjoyed.

Mrs. Jack Scott: attended a party
of classmates on Thursday at the
home of Mrs. Florence MacKenzie
at Lochalsh, honouring Miss Edith
Patterson who will soon return to
the mission field.

numbers were enjoyed and cards
were played. Morley Wall invited
the couple to the platform where an
address was read, and Ernie Hanna

lamp, a wall Mirror and 2 wall
plaques. Ed made _a fitting reply
and lunch was served and a sodal
time was enjoyed. -
