When Ripley Happy Hearts Club
has a party, it's a real 'bang-up'
party. Last Thursday evening, over
100 members and friends gathered
at the Legion Hall to extend beg •
wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Emerson, newlyweds. 'The direct-
. ors were assisted by many other
willing workers to serve the picnic
supper ,and carry thrOugh the
program. Mrs. Alex McAuley and
• Mrs. Neil McLennan presented the
honoured guests with:a corsage
and boutonniere which they had
prepared. Frank Scott presented
them with memberships for next
. year and Reg Godfrey and Mrs:
Florence Liddle presented them
each with an USCO pin. Sam and

members are, good singers and with
Reg Moore leading and Mrs.
George Harkness „ playing, they,
made a joY•fnl sound. Introductions
were nude and several told of
amusing occurrences at weddings.
All had an opportunity to prepare a
page for a memory book for the
bridal couple.
A group of Happy Hearts girls
delighted the audience with their
singing. They were accompanied
"by Mrs. Bert Irwin. The group
included Elizabeth Fair, Rita Irwin,
Effie Sutherland, Florence Kirkpat-
rick and Mary (John A.) MacDon-
ald. Anne McCosh gave a short
reading. 0 Canada closed an
evening of fun and good fellowship.
