Farm in plenty of time for lunch
after which they toured the park
"area and attended the Matineland
show. The group also visited' the
, Panasonic ToWer and other attrac-
tions there and had a bus 'tour of
the Falls and park area. They
stopped for supper on the road
home, arriving hack in Lucknow
abotit 11 o'clock.
• Mrs. A. J. Wilson and all gave
Mrs. George Kennedy and Mrs.
Earl McDonald a Vote of thanks for
a well planned ,pleasant bus tour,
also thanks to the, bus driver Cecil
Garniss for a good day.
WHITECHURCH
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Wilson of
West Wawanosh were Tuesday
exerting visitors with Mr. and Mrs.
Wesle Tiffin
Graham and Wendy Kay on
Wednesday visited with their aunt
Miss Gale Kay of Kitchener and
with their grandmother, Mrs. Kay,
a patient at Guelph Hospital.
On Friday Port Elgin Tykes team
played Wingham Tykes at Wing-.
ham with a score 15-10 for
Wingham. Joey Tiffin was the
pitcher and had 8 strike outs.
Mr. and Mrs. John Jamieson,
George, Bobbie and Dale spent
Sunday in Windsor with friends.
Mr. and Mrs: Leroy Rintoul on
Saturday attended the sale of
Charolais cattle at Mount Forest,
and on Sunday left by plane for
• Calgary to attend the world sale of
Charolais cattle, where they had a
few head for sale.
We are sorry to report that Mrs.
Bill Willis singe last week is a
patient at Listovvel Hospital. The
community wishes her a speedy
recovery. .
RECEPTION
A reception was held Friday
evening, June 21, in Whitechurch
Community Memorial Hall for Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Ducharme nee Joan
Laidlaw.
A large crowd gathered to do
them honour and danced to the
music of the Alley -Cats. At lunch
time Joan and Joe were called to,
the platform and given seats of
honor while Neil Rintoul gave the
address and John Martin presented
them with a gift of money with
which to purchase something they
wish to remind them of the happy
social time enjoyed June 27, 1975.
Joe and Joan both replied
thanking those responsible for the
evening's entertainment, all for
coming and for their gift. All then
,sang For They Are Jolly Good
Fellows. Dancing was then
resumed until the closing hour.
4H CLUB
Zippy Tr-inettes
The fourth meeting of the Trinity
Garden Club was held in the Trinity
Church b,asetnent on June 26th at
7.00 p.m. The president, Cheryl
Hackett, called the meeting to
order and, .all 'members repeated
the 4-H pledge..
The roll call; "One vegetable 1
have served since the last meeting
and how I served it", was
answered by eleven ' girls. Home
assignment answers were taken
up. The next meeting will be July
30th at 7.00 p.m. The demonstra-
tion practise will be July 1st at Mrs.
Donald Hackett's at 1.00 p.m.
Donna Hackett read the minutes
of the last meeting and Karen
Campbell read the business minut-
es. We 'discussed the progress of
our gardens and went over scores
on flower garden and vegetable
garden in Member's Pamphlet.
Vegetable and meal planning
and tossed salads were discussed.
We planned two main courses for
our family and cooked potatoes and
carrots. Four girls made individual
tossed 'salads which we judged by
using the score sheets for tossed
salads.

Chalmer's C.O.C. held their
June meeting in the Sunday School
room during church service. The
president, Donald de Boer, presid-
ed and gave the Call to Worship.
All repeated the Lord"s Prayer 'in
unison.
Scripture reading, St. Luke
loa-12 was read by Bill Gibson.
David- Ross led in prayer. The
birthday calendar was marked and
the offering received by Karen
Elliott and dedicated by Eddy de
Boer.
Mrs. Archie Purdon gave the
Junior story, God's Love - Wait.
Mrs. Hugh Simpson gave the
Senior story - The Centennial
Stamp, Let's Celebrate the Picture.
The closing prayer was sung.,

Sunday, June 29th.
The afternoon's activities began
at 3.00 p.m. with baseball for the
sen!tors and races for the juniors.
