last Thursday evening. The guest
speaker was Mrs. George Newbold
of the Pinecrest Nursing Home,
Lucknow.
Jim Black returned home last

few months in Mexico, Fiji and.

ATTENDED ASSEMBLY
Mrs. Burton Collins and Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Patterson were in'
Toronto on Monday of last week.
Mr. Patterson and Mrs. Collins
attended the Rebekah Assembly
and participated in the Charter
Draping Ceremony by presenting
flowers in memory of their mother
Mrs. Martha Patterson, who had
been Past President of the Rebekah
Assembly of Ontario. They also
attended the memorial service in
the evening.
Sympathy of the community is
extended to Mr. Donald Mackay
andfamily and J. D. Mackay in the
passing of their brother and uncle
last week.
ViSiting at the funeral home in
Guelph last Sunday along with the
Mackay families were Mr. and
Mrs. Burton Collins; Mr. and Mrs.-
Gordon Patterson and Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Farrell.
Mrs. Burton Collins was in
Hamilton last Saturday attending a
conference of French teachers.
Miss Vicki Dore is a Councellor
in Training at the Kiwanis Camp
Belmore at Belmore this week.
Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Don
Dore for a few days are Mrs. Beth
Fournier and sons Robert and Ian
from Durham.
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Boyle,
Bonnie, Corrine and Kevin attend-
ed the 25th reunion picnic at the
Five Oaks United Church Camp
near Paris on Sunday. '
25th ANNIVERSARY
The family of Mr. and Mrs.
Aurel Armstrong honoured them
with a 25th wedding anniversary
celebration at the 'community
centre last Saturday. The evening
consisted of a family supper and
dance.

,FIELD MEET
On. Monday, June 16, our track
team went to Teeswater for" the
Regional Track Meet. On the way
home everybody was happy be-
cause Ripley took the Big Trophy.
We also got six individual trophies.
For the Junior boys trophy, the
—winner-was Pau Ttepanier, in.the:
Junior girls, there was a tie. The
winners were Darlene Coiling and
Mary Farrell. For the intermediate
boys, Philip Trepanier took the
trophy. The Intermediate girls
winner was Jane Farrell. Senior
girls champion •was Brenda Fair.
We would like to congratulate
these People 'who put forth a fine
effort. •
TRACK AND FIELD
Also on the 16th, of 'June the
Grades 1 2 and 3 had their track
and field meet at our school.
PLAYDAY -
Playday was tied on Tuesday,
Team #3, John Piel's team and
Team # Tom Wilson's-team. To
break the tie they went through
the obstacle course and John Piel's
team won.
BIKE RODEO
As we said last. week, there was
to 'be a Bike Rodeo last Wednes-
day. The• champion was Terry
Schott for the Senior and Mitchell
Twolan for the Junior. Congratu-
lations to both these boys.
