Mrs. Beulah Sparling (Clare's mother) then read a lovely poem on a successful marriage.. The gifts were then opened by the bride and groom with Valerie Finkbeiner and Debbie Smith reading the attached cards. , Both Clare and Ethel replied fittingly and all joined in singing. Happy Anniversary., This was followed by the cutting of the, beautiful anniversary cake- that was brought from North Bay by their niece Sheila Smith and which everyone enjoyed. During the evening Ethel displayed her wedding dress and veil and showed her wedding pictures which -brought back memories. Pictures were taken of the bridal party of 25 years ago. The remainder of the evening was spent in visiting. Heartiest congratulations are ex- tended to Clare and Ethel from this community. St. Paul's Anglican Church, Wingham was decorated with yellow and white mums with guest peWs marked in white, ribbon, when marriage' vows were exchanged by Patricia Jean King and Donald Campbell MacDonald. Rev. T. K. Hawthorn officiated at the double ring ceremony which was perform- ed at four o'clock on Saturday, May 10. Mrs. Gordon Davidson of, Wing- / Phone 528-3112' ham presided at the church organ and accompanied the soloist, Doug Inglis' of Clifford, who sang "The Wedding Prayer" and "A Time For ,Us". The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Harold C. King 'of Wingham: The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. • Jack E. MacD,onald of Lucknow. Given in marriage by her. father and mother, the bride chose a princess-style gown of peau de soie satin with overskirt of nylon flocked with velvet. The gown had a standup collar, bodice 'tucks and long flowing lower sleeves. A Juliet cap, made of matching Material held her full-length veil and she carried a white prayer book covered in red rosebuds with streamers flowing down her skirt, trimmed with rosebuds. Miss Joan Chester of Lucknow was maid of honour. She wore a floor-length .green polyester crepe backlesg gown with matching jacket trimmed with white collar and cuffs. She carried one long-stemmed red rose With white satin ribbon. In similar ensemble§ were the bridesmaids, Miss Nancy King, sister of the bride, of Wingham, Mrs. Glenis King, sister-in-law of the bride, of Clinton, and Miss Beverly MacDonald; sister of the groom, of Toronto. Groomsman was Ed Schillemore of Sudbury and ushers were Bradley King, brother of the bride, of Clinton, Michael Courtney of Lucknow and Allan KreutzWeiser of St. Catharines. Guest tables were decorated with green candles, yellow daffodils and other green and white accessories for the reception which followed in the Royal Canadian Legion Hall, Wingham. The bride's table was centred with a three-tiered wed- ding cake. The . bride's mother • wore a floor-length gown of yellow printed polyester crepe. The groom's mother chose a floor...length gown of aqua satin-backed crepe. Both wore yellow orchid corsages. For travelling to Northern Ontar- io, the bride wore a blue pantsuit with printed blouse and' jacket and corsage of pink rosebuds. On their return, they took ' up residence at 4427 Bathe Road, Unit 16, King- ston, Ontario. The bride is a graduate 'of E. Madill Secondary School and Fanshawe College in Early Child- hood Education. She was employ- ed at the Walkerton Day Care Centre. The groom, also a' graduate of F. E. Madill, graduat-• ed as a mechanical engineer from the University of Western Ontario and is employed by Dupont of 'Canada in , Kingston.' Honoured guests at the wedding were the bride's grandmothers, Mrs. J. J. Elliott of Bluevale and Mrs. L. Shropshall of VVingham; and the bride's great, grandmother, Mrs. A. M. Baker of Wingham. Showers were held by Mrs.' Allan Harrison, Miss Nancy. King and Mrs. Glenis King in VVingham. NO. 1 210 LB.
