Miss Edna Boyle played organ
inektdieS while the ladies were
gathering. Mrs. George Graham
and-Miss May Boyle welcomed the
guests. - Mrs. Gertrude Walsh
presided , and , read scripture past
sages and also gave a welcome to
all present. The hymn, "Breathe
on Me breath of God" was sung.
Mrs. Howard Thompson read the
scripture and all joined in repeating
the Lord's , prayer. The meditation
on "I am , the light of the world"
was given by Mrs. Jack Scott. Mrs.
Frank Fair gave a reading "Not By
Bread Alone".
The W.M.S. ladies sang in a
quartette - namely, Mrs. Jack- Barr,
Mrs. Glen Haldenby, Mrs. Bill
MacPherson and Mrs. Hornet.
Devitt, hymn "Abide with Me".
Mrs. Ron Stanley gave a reading
"Growing Things". Mrs,. Cliff
•Roulston read "Rules For Happi-,'
nesS".
Mrs. Walsh introduced Miss
Ruth Thompson of Lucknow, who
gave a talk on Africa and showed
pictures' which she had 'taken while
there. This'was all very interesting
and much enjoyed by -everyone.
Mrs. Midford Wall thanked Miss
Thompson and presented her with
a gift in .appreciation.
Mrs. Delbert Hedley. and Mrs.
Gerald Rhody received the offer-
ing. The closing hymn was: "The
day thou gayest Lord is ended".
Grace was sung' and the meeting
closed with prayer after which
refreshments were , served. Mrs.
Ruth Wilson, Mrs. Ron. Stanley,
Mrs. Frank Fair, Mrs. Harold,
Cooper, each ,expressed thanks On
behalf of their group for the
pleasant evening. ,

Whitechurch United Church held
their- anniversary services on
Sunday, June 15th. Mr. Lawrence
King is student minister. Rev.
Douglas Kaufman of Lucknow was
guest minister. Mrs. Garnet
Farrier was organist and;John Gibb
of Kitchener, guest pianist.
The .'choir anthems were "We
Come" and "Make Me a Bless-
ing". A violin trio played "Thou
Shalt Arise, Mercy Yet and
, Whispering Hope" by Kevin
Machan, Kevin Hoggart and Jack'
Whytock with piano accompanist
Mrs. Ross Hoggart.
The sermon "Adventure in
Faith", given by Rev. Doug
Kaufman, gave the audience much
food for thought. Hymns sung
were All people that on earth .do
dwell, Love Divine and Guide me, o
thou great Jehovah.
The evening service was held at
8 p.m..' with student minister
Lawrence King in charge and
giving the sermon. As the greup
who was to 'assist, with musical
numbers were unable to be
present, Mr. King gave solos
accompanying himself on the
guitar and he and Garnet Farrier
gave saxaphone numbers. ,

The annual Grandmother's
meeting for Trinity United Church
Women was held in the church
basement 'on June 12, with an
attendance of 19 members and six
visitors. The meeting opened with
the hymn, Breathe on me, breath of
God. The president, Mrs. Charles .
Wilkins, then read two poems. The
roll call was answered with a
summary of an article in the
Observer. Hymn, Make me a
' captive Lord, was sung. Mrs. Ken
Alton read the scripture from
Romans.
Mrs. Frank Alton gave the topic,
"Can You Laugh At Yourself'.
'Hymn, Saviour teach me day by
day dosed the. devotions. ' Mrs.
Arnold Campbell sang 3 numbers,
accompanied by her guitar. Mrs.
Marvin Scott read, Delinquents we
read about in the paper.
'The business portion of the
meeting followed. Mrs. Ken Alton
had charge of the program and the
following grandmothers won
prizes: Grandmother with the most
buttons on her dress, Mrs. Jack
Needham; Grandmother with
birthday nearest June 12, Mrs.
Meeting Held At
Silver Lake Camp
"Lucknow' United Church Women
held their .June meeting at Silver-
Lake United Church Camp, on
?Thursday, JUne 12.
A total, of, forty-three ladies
gathered at -the Campsite .at .7:00
for an, informal picnic pot luck
supper. I
Following the delicious meal the
ladies gathered around a campfire
to sing- a number - of favourite
songs. ,
The president, Mrs.' Jack Tre-
leaven, conducted the business
portion of the meeting followed by
the reports- of the conveners.
Mrs. Ernest Ackert, program
chairman for the evening introduc-
ed the theme, "In' Praise of
Beauty".
Guest pianist for the evening,
Mary Eadie, played "Solace" and
Mrs. Harvey Webster sang "Let
There Be Peace On earth"
accompanied by Mrs. Harvey
'Houston. ' ,
Mrs. Gordon Cayley and Mrs.
Gerald Priestap presented a Litany
of Thanks and. ',When I Consider
The Heavens" followed by a
reading and 'a scripture "Song of
David" by Mrs. Wilfred Drennan.
The guest speaker, Mrs. Eleanor
Ward of Wingham, was introduced
by Mrs. Gordon Cayley.
Mrs. Ward gave a beautiful and
humorous slide presentation ac-
companied by two readings "I'd
Pick More Daisies" and "To the-
Children of the World".
Mrs. Vernon Hunter expressed
appreciation to Mrs. Ward and
Mrs. Eva McCullough closed with
prayer.
The ladies, gathered• for the
-singing of Taps to close the
meeting.,

Mrs. Ken Alton read the Trinity
Tattler:. The next • meeting will be
July 24th in the evening. Mugs
and. spoons with the church crest
were shown and anyone who wants
any can order from the treasurer.
Mrs. Donald Hackett reported that
the next bale would be packed after
the October' meeting.
The meeting "closed with the
singnig.of a hymn. A dainty lunch
of sandwiches and cake was served
by the hostesses in charge.

Busy Buddies
Hear Minister
The June 10th .meeting- of the
Busy Buddies was opened by Mrs.,
Wayne Stanleyz The minutes a the
last two meeting§ were read and
accepted as. read. The financial -
report was given. '
Arrangements were made for the
dating to SMtfoYcl-next Monday toJ
the Shakespearian Festival. The
next meeting was scheduled for
September 9, as there will be' no
meetings during the summer
months.
Collection was taken. Mrs.Mor-
ley .Abbott read a poem, "The Sini
of Omission".
The speaker for the evening was
Rev. Glenn Noble, who welcomed
the group on behalf of the Session
of the Presbyterian Church and
described the chain of command
and finances in the church. The
members, who belong to the "
Presbyterian Church were very
glad to hear of the nursery in the
basement to be established in the
fall so that parents of small
children would feel more relaxed in
attending church services.
When Rev: Noble concluded, the
business section ' of the meeting
resumed.
Mrs. Glenn Noble moved •that
the group donate an electric knife
to the kitchen fund as they use the
facilities in the church. This
motion was seconded by Mrs.
°Wayne Stanley and passed well.
Mrs. Barry McDonagh moved
that a donation of $25.00 be given
to finance two representatives to
Congress "75 in Hamilton. This
motion .was seconded by Mrs. Rick
Jardine and also passed.
Cheques were written to cover
these expenses. Mrs. Bob Osborie
moved the adjournment of the
meeting. Lunch was served by
Mrs. Wayne Stanley and Mrs.
Morley. Abbott.
The members were very pleased
to see Mrs. Harry McDougall out to
the meeting on her crutches after
her operation,
