Bridal Shower For Heather MacKenzie A delightful evening was spent in Kairshea Hall, May 23rd when a large crowd 'of friends and neigh- bours gathered to hnour Miss Heather MacKenzie, bride-to-be. Mrs.. Ruth Bell, welcomed all ' and the program opened with a sing song with Mrs. • Blanche Needham as pianist and Ruth Bell as song leader. Mrs. Ena Steer had two good readings with advice for the bride. Sandra Keith did a splendid portrayal of the former TV charact- er from "Laugh-In" in her rocking chair with a reading on "Hus- bands". Modelling outfits that a bride should not wear were; Laurie and Bonnie Clark, Irene Reit- knecht, Cheryl . Haldenby and Marilynne Maclntyre. Ruth Bell conducted a jumbled word contest that was quite tricky and Wilma Clarke's purse contest had every- one searching their purses for. points. Pat Sparks with her guitar sang several very appropriate songs with the audience joining in the choruses. Nancy Maclntyre read an ad- dress to the bride and Heather was assisted in opening and displaying her gifts by Brenda Morrison and Pat Sparks, and Sandra Keith decorated a tree with the ribbons and bows. There were many children present who carried in the gifts. Heather in her usual pleasing manner thanked everyone for the gifts and the evening. Neighbours, Margaret Keith, Wil- ma Clarke, Anita Sparks and Ruth Bell and others assisted in serving a tasty lunch . . . • . • ..••••••••▪ ••▪ •••••••••.*.*..%%*.'.•.- • • • ▪ • • , • . . • • a • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •• • • • ,•• •4 • • • • ,4 • • •t••••• • • • • . • • • '• 8.10.0.1 By planning for your future today. .
