the 1950's, everyone looked funny.
Ron Lotton won a beanie for being
the best dressed boy, and Helen
Cook won some gloves' for being
the best dressed girl. Elizabeth
Hipsh won the eleMentary hoola-
hoop twirling contest. She was
rewarded with a jar of blowing
bubbles after hooping for over an
hour.. For winning the double
dutch, skipping contest, Heather
MacDonald got an appropriate gift
- a skipping rope. At 11.45 there
was a. sock-hop in the gym. In the
afternoon all the classes again
congregated in the gym, to enjoy a
beach party movie. The, buses
departed at 3.30. It certainly was a
full day..

TRACK AND FIELD DAY
The:'Midget girls champion this
year .was Janice Farrell and the
runner-up Was Laurie Coiling. For
the- Junior girls it was Priscilla
Zipfel and Mary Jane Courtney was
second. --The sehiorgirls champion
was , • Debbie Beard and Gail
Messenger was runner-up. The
boys in the same order were John
Drazazga with Rick Clampitt as
runner-up. Mike Gallant with
Randy Ackert coming second and
Peter Huston with Wayne Nichol-
son as runner-up. The following
students are eligible to compete in
;the B.1.A. Meet to be held on May
27: John Drazazga, Rick Clampitt,
Mike Gallant, Danny Boyd, Randy
Ackert, 'Laurie Colling, Jane Mes-
senger, Janice Farrell and Priscilla
Zipfel.
GREASER DAY
The day started off with a hop,
skip, and a jump with' thefinal
competitions for the Double Dutch
skipping and Hula Hoop contests.
The final winners in Double Dutch .
were, for the , secondary students,
Mrs. Burgess, and for the element-
ary, Heather MacDonald. In the
hula-hoop conwetitions, after near-
ly tvi,o and a half hours, the winner
for the secondary students was
Priscilla Zipfel,' and . for the
elementary students, Elizabeth
Hipsh. The sock-hop. was a great
success with Mr. Tnrvill acting as
the D.J. The- winners• of the best
'dressed competitions were', Peter
Huston, AUdrey._ Kastra, Helen
Cook, and Mrs. Fisher. The WhOle-
day wrapped up with the most
exciting fun we have seen this year
called: Girls on the Beach.
"It was announced at the Prom
last Friday night that the King and
Queen for this year, are David
'MacDonald and Gail Messenger.

On Thursday, May 15, our
elementary. girls' basketball, team
had a game against the W.E.
Thompson team at their school.
The score was, 10 W. E. 'Thonipson
and 8 Ripley. Our points were
scored by Shelly Hackett, Brenda
Fair, Sarah Lee Stewart and Dawna,
Rutledge.
