Society Hold Tea
& Flower Display
The Lucknow and District Horti-
cultural Society held• their annual
Spring Flower Display and Tea in
the Legion Hall on Wednesday,
May 14. A good crowd attended
the, event during the afternoon and
evening.: The committee had the
hall decorated very beautifully for
the occasion.
Musical numbers during the
afternoon, and evening were Mrs.
Wes Ritchie, Eunice Dunsmuir,
Elmer Umbach, Don Kreutzweiser,
Rob and Tom Henderson, Cytil' and
Dorothy Brown. Tea, fruit bread
and'cheese were served by Mrs.
Morgan Ilenderson, Miss Ada
Webster,, Mrs. Bill Ross, Mrs. J.
Jardine and Mrs. Noble Johnston.
Special thanks to Machan Hard-
ware and Lucknow Co-op Stbre for
loaning garden material to assist in.
the decorating of the hall and to all
the ladies who worked to make this
a very successful display.

WHITECHURCH NEWS
The May meeting of White-
church Women's Intsitute was held
in VVhitechurCh. Community Mem-
orial Hall on May 12 with an
attendance of 23. ^ The president
Miss Merle Wilson opened the,
meeting with the Ode and 'Collect
and a welcome to the 4-H girls and
their leaders. '
The secretary-treasurer Mrs.
George Fisher' gave the financial
repOrt. The correspondence read
included a thank you letter from
Wingham Hospital Auxiliary for
home made candy which realized
$17.93 for them; Fun Day Interna-
tional June 11; invitation to
BlueVale May 29. Anyone wishing
to go to Fun Day is to let Mrs.
Fisher know. It was decided 'to
donate $10 to Lucknow Fair. The
Executive is to plan a party for the
Institute's First Year members.
The roll call, an exchange of
bulbs or slips, was .answered by 15.
The Rising Rolls club had a display
of the various items made from
bread dough. Their record books
and recipe books were also on
display. Miss Wendy Kay gave her ,
talk on a table set for two. In the
setting of a table, linens, china,
-glass and flatware ,are important.
