Council met for its regular May
session at the. Public Works': •
Building on Tuesday evening, May
6th. All members were in
attendance and Reeve Lyons pres-,,
ided. • •
The minutes of the April meeting
Were read and adopted on motion
of Councillors Hickey and Stothers. .
Mrs. L. Johnston of Bayfield,
'who has purchased property at St.
Augukine, Consulted Council
about drainage problems on her
newly-acquired land..
Motion by Councillors Stothers
and Hickey: "That • West Wawa-
nosh Township agrees to pay a
one-quarter share of the cost of the
purchase of the McDonald garage
in Lucknew Which is to be used as a.
fireball for Lucknow's equipment'
and the Townships' tanker".
Aletter from an Auburn resident
was . read and the Clerk was
directed' by Council to contact the
writer with advise to seek help from
the Huron' Cotinty Health Unit.
A motion by Councillors Foran
and Cranston: "That West WaWa-.
nosh Township Council take steps
to apply to the Ontario Municipal
Board for approval to• sell deben-
ture for $15,000.00 to cover its
share of the cost of the new tanker
and fire hall, the costs too be shared
with the townships of Ashfield and
Kinloss , and the Village of Luck-
now:"
On. motion of Councillors Foran'
and Hickey Council declared the '
week of June 15 to '21 Senior
Citizens' Week in West"Wawanosh
Township.
The qierk reported that the
Engineer's report on the , Kirk
Municipal Drain. Repair' and im-
provement had been received, and
Council made arrangements to
meet with the owners therein to
consider the report. '
The road accounts were passed
for payment on motion of Council-
lors Stothers and Cranston.
