Elizabeth Newbold, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. George Newbold of
Lucknow, left Sunday for England
where she will be employed for the
summer at Queen' Marys Child-
ren's Hospital, Carshalton, Surrey,
England.
Elizabeth has completed her 3rd
year in nursing at University of
Windsor.

Several cattle ran loose from the
Licknow Stockyards near the
railroad station last week and had a'
run about town, and over numerous
lawns and gardenSP before they
were cornered at the C and M
Transport shed.
She is staying with family friends
while in England, F. S. Kelly. and
family who was stationed at Port
Albert during the second world
war.
Damage Extensive
Damage was extensive in a
pile-up of ,three vehicles in
Wingham recently. Police reported
that a car driven by Michael
Hackett of R. R. 7 Lucknow, was in
collision with one driven by Ivan
Harkness of Wingham, which in
turn struck a truck owned by
Walter Scott of Lucknow. Estimat-
ed damage to the three vehicles
was over $3,500.

Further to a story id last week's
issue concerning a Christmas
Cactus belonging to .loan Robin-
son, Mrs. Henry Hartemink, who
resides at R. R. 5, Lucknow, advises
us that she also has a similar plant
which began blooming about
Christmas and which still has one
bud. This must be the, year of the
Christmas -Cactus.
THAT
Oliver and Lenore Glenn of
Lucknow are re-opening their
Driye-In Restaurant at the east end
of town this Thursday. The
business will be known as the
Glenndale Drive-In. Glenns have
done considerable, renovating to
the building and plan to open an air
conditioned dining room shortly.
A new Beckers Milk Store also
opens in Lucknow today in 'the
premises formerly occupied by
Lucknow Dry Cleaners. Mrs. Tony
(Donna) Johnstone is manager.

Steven Donald, son ,of Mr. and
Mrs. Donald Saunders of Lucknow
was baptized last Sunday at the
Lucknow United Church.

Master Kevin Haasnoat, R. R. 4
VVingham, was playing in a car
May 8 when it began to roll down a
hill at 124 Carling Terrace,
dragging the child several feet.
Patient• was treated for abrasions to
both knees and discharged.

Master Russell Kuepfer, R. R. 5
Brussels, was injured by a cultivat-
or while helping his parents on
their farm. He was admitted to
hospital with multiple fractures,
abrasions, contusions and shock.
Investigated by R. Cameron,
Winghain
William Thomson, Lucknow, lost
control of his car, rolling it several
times, on Highway #4, South of
Huron-Bruce line. Patient was
treated for • multiple bruises and
contusions, and discharged. In-
vestigated by Carl Ricker, Wing-
ham O. P. P.
