Weber, Ann De Bruyan, Lori and
Kathy Purdon, Lori Jamieson,
Wendy Kay and their leaders, Mrs.
Walter Elliott and Mrs, Archie
Purdon were at LucknoW for
Achievement Day, Kathy Purdon.
received County Honours, certifi-
cate and pin for 12 projects. The
other girls all received a spoon with
Wendy Kay, Lori Jamieson' and
Ann De Bruyan receiving 2 year
Certificates. .Lori JamieSon and
Anne De Bruyan demonstrated the
use of versatile bread crumbs in
ovensidefish, stuffed'tomatoes and
chocolate bread pudding. Kathy
Purdon has been chosen to attend
the 4-H. Conference in Guelph in
June.

BRIDAL SHOWER
A shower was held in White-
church Community 'Memorial Hall
on Friday evening for Miss Joann
Laidlaw, bride to be; Mrs. Garnet
Farrier played piano music while
,the large crowd was gathering.
When Joann and her helpers
Mrs. Gary Jamieson and Jane
Laidlaw arrived she was seated
under a trellis, prettily deCorated
with pink and white streamers and
rosettes, Mrs. Victor Emerson
presided for the program.
A chorus On Top of the World
and encore My' Special Angel was
given by Rhonda Gibson, Linda
Moore, Wendy Kay and Clara
Milligan. Mrs. Milan Moore gave
readings, A Man Couldn't Say No
and Advice to Brides. Miss Janet
Laidlaw gave the piano solo
Tarantelle.
Mrs. George Fisher gave read-
ings, Entertaining Visitors and So
Was I. Misses Karen and Lee Ann
Young sang a duet and Karen for
encore sang a solo. Misses Shirley
Tiffin with the banjo and Joan on
the piano and Shirley singing, gave
numbers.
Mrs. Victor Emerson read an
address to Joann. The ,gifts were
then opened with Gayle Rintoul
presenting them and Ruth Elliott,
Misses Lisa and Karen Scholtz of
Goderich assisting. The gifts
consisted of kitchen utensils, roast
pans, towels, blankets, pillow
cases, wall plaque, bowls, quilt,
salad bowli, electric toaster, fry
pan, coffee percolator, clothes
hamper, boudoir a lainps and many

Junior Farmers
Alive In Ripley
The Ripley Junior Farmers held
their monthly meeting in Ripley at
the Ball Park. and Ripley District
School. Auditorium. Forty-eight
enthusiastic thembers enjoyed a
game • of softball' and them 'a
meeting afterward. The meeting
was started by' everyone standing
up and saying their names. Each
committee was asked to report.
Clayton Farrell, on behalf of the
sports committee, announced that
Ripley's Field Day will be held on
May 25 at Kincardine District High
School. He encouraged everyone
to take part. It doesn't matter if
you're good or not.. Margo Ross,
on behalf of the social committee,
said that there would be no dance
on May 10 as the band backed out.

functions since it started up again
in Ripley. Bruce , Aitken, the
Provincial Director, reported on the
Provincial meeting. The, meeting _
closed by some members playing
cards and crokinole and even
human checkers. A lunch of
squares and. punch was enjoyed by
all. Congratulations go to Donna
Huber, Debbie Zipfel, Kathy
Farrell and Bruce Aitken, for
planning a good meeting.
