and sleeves. Her three-tiered
elbow length veil was held by a
dainty floral headdress .and she '
carried 'a cascade bouquet of white
stephanotis, yellow roses and
baby's breath.
The bride was attended by her
Sister Kathy Farrell who wore a
blue polyester floor -length dress
with belt and long sleeves. Her
cascade bouquet was of yellow
mums, baby's breath and blue iris.
Groomsman was J. J. Houston of
Toronto, brother of the groom and
ushers were Boyd and Blain
Carruthers of Ripley.
The wedding • supper was held
following the ceremony at the home
of the bride's parents.
The bride's mother wore a flopr
length gown.' of hot pink Polyes
crepe with long sleeves. H
corsage was salmon roses., 'The
groom's mother worda floor length
-brown and orange polyester dress
with a corsage of orange roses.
For a honeymoon to Alberta and
Eastern Ontario, the bride wore a
yellow pant suit, with a green
orchid.
Mr. and Mrs.• Houston will be
living on the groom's farm at R. R.
3 Holyrood.

Lucknow Lady
Died At Age 76
MRS. JOHN GARDNER
Mrs. John Gardner, 'of Lucknow,
the former Mary Elizabeth Helm,
passed away in Winghani and
District Hospital on . Sunday, 'April
20th. She was. 76 years 'of age.
The. late Mrs. Gardner Was born
in Ashfield Township on March 31;
1899: She .was the elder. daughter
of the late John J. and Mrs. Sara
Helm. On April 19th, 1922 she
married John R. Gardner and
resided On the- 12th concession of
Ashfield until retiring to Lucknow
in 1970. She was a faithful member
of Zion United Church and 'her
cheerful disposition endeared her
to all who -knew her.
Besides her sorrowing husband,
she is survived by two daughters,
Kathleen, Mrs. Robert Panter of
Denver, Colorado and Carol, Mrs.
DonaldPincolini of San Jose,
California; one sister Mrs. Lorne
WoOds of . Lucknow and -Jive
_grandchildren.
The funeral service was held at
AO MacKenzie 'Memorial Chapel-, li
Lucknow on Wednesday, April
23rd at 3 p.m. with -Rev. Douglas
Kaufman • officiating.
The pallbearers were Roy Haw-
ley, Gordon Kirkland, Richard
Kilpatrick, John McDonagh, And-
rew Ritchie and Harvey Houston.
'Dennis Donnelly, Lloyd Hall,
Charles Anderson, Russell Whitby
and Wm. G. Hunter acted as flower
bearers.
Temporary entombment was in
Kinloss Mausoleum . with later
interment in Greenhill Ceinetery.

On Saturday, April 5, in a
candlelight ceremony in the Kin-
cardine United Church, Joy Dianne
Farrell and Kenneth William
Thomas . Houston were united in
marriage in a double ring cere-
mony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Stewart Farrell,, R. R. 2
Ripley and the groom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Houston,
Lucknow .
The church was decorated with
candelabra, baskets of yellow
mums, yellow snapdragons and'
blue iris and nosegays of , yellow
mums and blue iris on the pews.
Rev. Allan McDowell officiated.
Mrs. Wayne Lowry was organist
and Boyd and Blain 'Carruthers
sang "I Love You Truly".
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride was lovely in a floor

DOUGLAS MELVIN' HUSK
Douglas Melvin Husk, 35 year
old Kinloss Township farmer, died
suddenly at his farm, just east of
llolyrood, on Friday, April 25th.
His death was attributed to. a heart
attack.
Doug was working in the barn at,
the time feeding cattle. He was
Miming about 250'head. He owned
300 adres east of the• farm of Lloyd.
Ackert. Doug had been seen about
5.50 p.m. near the barn and was
discovered dead shortly before 6.30
p.m. by his brother-in-law, Bob
Bushell, who had come to the farm
to pick him up and fouPd him
slumped in the manger, the victim
of a massive heart attack. He had
no latOin history of heart disease.
The late Mr. Husk was not
married. He was born on January
13th, 1940' at London, Ontario, a
son of Melvin and Evelyn (Jen-
ills) Husk of R. R. 2 Holyrood.
Besides his parents he is
survived by two brothers, Lloyd?of
R. R. 4 Kincardine, Bill of R. R. 2
Kincardine; and seven sisters Mrs.
Ron (Aileen) Benninger of Kitch-
ener, Mrs. Harold (Patridia) Hayes
of R. R. 4 Kincardine, Mrs. Norval
(Isabel) McConnell of R. R. 5
Kincardine, Mrs. Robert (Louise)
Bushell of R. R. 4 Kincardine, Mrs.
Wray (Janet) McConnell of R. R. '5
Kincardine, Mrs. Everette (Ivy)
Whytock of Teeswater and Marion
at home.
The funeral service 'was , held on
Monday, April 28th at the Linklater
Funeral Home, Kincardine: Rev.
Robert. Clyde was minister.
Interment in Kincardine
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ellwood Elliott,
Harold Elliott, Alymer Ackert,
Kevin Ackert, George Stanley, and
Bill Stanley.
Flowerbearers were nieces and
nephews, Tracey Benninger, Mich-
el and Dale Hayes, Eddy, Johnny
and Lisa Husk.
