George says—"it takes more than good' stock
to get litter averages of
1011 born,
9•35 weaned from
296 farrovvings"
"Litter size depends greatly on the way you feed your sows,"
says George Robson, Manager, Shur-Gain Research Farm.
"Feed and management play the' big role in keeping litters
at profitable sizes and weights. For example, recent tests
we've' made from 296 farrowings show live birth averages of
10.51 and a 9.35 average of pigs weaned. We got these averages
with the SHUR-GAIN SOW feeding program shown below"
1 SHUR-GAIN DRY SOW RATION:
Fed in, dry period to one week prior to
farrowing.
2 SHUR-GAIN SOW FARROWER:
Fed 7, days prior and 7 days after farrowing.
3 SHUR-GAIN NURSING SOW RATION:
Fed one week after farrowing to weaning.
See your Shur-Gain,Dealer for these
complete feeds or for the appropriate
supplements to manufacture these
proven rations.

interesting topic on "The Stoty of
the Ontario West Shore Electric
Railway". The plan was proposed -
in 1901 to have • a ,passenger and
freight service from Goderich to
Kincardine following the general
route of Highway. 21. Construction'
was started in 1908 but was never
completed as the whole deal was
found to b.c a fraud and swindle
headed by a John W. Moyes. Some
municipalities who sold' bonds on
the project in good faith had to pay
extra taxes for many years to
honour the bonds. The material on
this story ,was researched by two
university students and printed in a
97-page booklet.
Mrs. Graham McNee thanked
Mrs. Zinn and all who had
participated in the meeting which
closed with singing of the Queen. Died At Huronview
