Dungannon I 4-H club held its
third meeting at Donna Young's on-
March 27.
All members being present, the
meeting opened with the 4-H
pledge. For, roll call, members
showed their blouse pattern and
fabric. Wanda Park and Leola
Chisholm read the minutes of the
last two meetings. A design, was
selected for the, booklet covers.
Discussion was held, on Achieve-
ment Day and exhibits.
The topic "Suit the Occasion",
was read from 'the leader's
pamphlets and, discussed. Bev
Machines helped Kathy Pentland
and Arlene Travis to straighten
their material.
The next meeting will be held on
April 3 at the home of Bev
Maclnnes.
Super Sewers
The fourth meeting of Dungan-
non II 4-H, the Super Sewers, was
held on March 28. at Mrs, Howard
Culbert's. •
Each member answered roll call
with a new garment or accessory
needed to fit into their wardrobe.
Betty Culbert read the minutes of
the last meeting. Barb Snowden
gave the treasurer's report.
Achievement Day is on May 17 at
Brookside School. Leaders discus-
sed plans for Achievement Day.
They gave directions about laying
on the pattern and cutting and
marking the blouse.
Our skit will be "A Planned
Shopping Trip". Using Betty
Culbert's material the girls were
shown straight of grain, place on
fold, and to make" sure all dots,
darts and squares were marked.
The meeting was adjourned.
Next meeting will be held on
Monday, March 31 at 10 a.m. at
Mrs. Culbert's. -

Snappy Snippers
The second meeting of the St.
Helen's Snappy Snippers was held
on March 25 at 6.45 p.rn. in the St.
Helens Hall. We opened the,
meeting with the pledge and. all
members were present to answer
the roll call. The minutes of the
last meeting were read by the
secretary. The next meeting is
Friday, March 28; 1075 at 1.00
p.m.- Achievement 'Day is •the 17th
of May. The discussion was read
by Marybelle Cranston, the topic
being "Suit • Yourself". We
discussed "Choosing. the Blouse",
this includes choosing your fabric
and pattern. We discussed points
to consider when choosing these.
We showed our swatches of fabrics
and told what material and texture
they were, for our group work. The
meeting closed with the 4-H creed.
The third meeting was opened
with the 4-H pledge. All members
were present to answer the roll call
which was followed by the minutes
of the last meeting.' The treasurer
gave her report. The next meeting
is Wednesday, April 12 at 7.15
p.m. We discussed plans for
AChievement Day and decided on
our exhibit and skit. The secretary
is going to look after our covers.
Mrs. Errington read to us on "Suit
the Occasion" and we discussed
this. Mrs. Humphrey read and
discussed "Wardrobe Harmony".
We then answered 'a questionnaire
on "What 'is your 4-H IQ?" Marg
showed us one way to tie a scarf by
tying it on Barb. It was also
demonstrated how to alter your
pattern if this was necessary. We
closed with the creed. •
WHITECHURCH NEWS
Rising Rolls 4-H club held their
7th meeting at the home of Mrs.
tWalter Elliott on Mondy evening.
The president Kathy. Purdon open-
ed the meeting - with all repeating
the 4-H pledge.
The roll call was answered by 5
members giving a recipe, including
bread for stuffing. The ballots
were checked for the next club.
The minutes were read by Lori
Purdon.
Mrs. .Putclon discussed. snacks'
and small meals. Mrs: Elliott
reviewed basic principles 'of mak- •
ing yeast doughs and bread. Final
plans 'were made for Achievement
Day to be held May 10th at
Lucknow. 'A demonstration was
versatile bread crumbs.
The meeting planned for March
31 had to be cancelled. The
meeting closed with repeating the'
4-H creed in unison.
Zippy Trinettes
The third, meeting of the Zippy
-Trinettes was called to order by the
presidents, and we all repeated the
4-H pledge.
The roll call was answered by
each girl showing her blouse
pattern and fabric, explaining why
they chose them. Darlene Hackett
read the business minutes for club
#2 and Leone Cranston read the
minutes of the last meeting.. The
Home. Assignments of the last
meeting were taken up.
Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Don
Hackett discussed "Suit the occa-
sion" and "wardrobe harmony".
• Mrs. Cameron demonstrated
how to prepare our fabric•and using
the pattern. Mrs. D. A. Hackett
also demonstrated how to alter
our pattein if it was needed.
We then closed the meeting.
DUNGANN'ON
Easter Sunday service at Dun-
gannon United Church was en-
hanced by special music provided
by the choir who sang "Let There
'Be Peace' On Earth" accompanied
on the organ by Shelley Rivett and
"I Found a Miracle" accompanied
by Mrs. Judy McMichael, on organ
and Donna Errington with guitar.
A duet, "The Old Rugged Cross"
by Mary Anne Alton and Nancy
Errington'was much' enjoyed. Rev.
R. C. McClenaghan's Easter mes-
sage was entitled, "Surprised IntO
New Life".
They sympathy of the community
is extended to Mrs. Harry. Girvin
and family who were bereaved by
the sudden death of Harry Girvin,
on Friday morning® , •
Mrs. Goldie Carter .returned
home~ from Goderich Hogpital on
Friday.
Mrs. Vera Errington came out of
Wingham Hospital on Wednesday
and is spending a few days with •
Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Webster.
Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Webster
visited their daughter Ettabelle and
her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Bradley on Sunday on the occasion
of Alice Bradley's birthday.
Sympathy of the community
expressed for Mr. and 'Mrs. Dynes
,Campbell on the' death of Mrs..
Campbell's father. Harry Fowler,
at. Huronview last week.
Mrs. Dynes Campbell was in
Goderich Hospital for a day or ,two
last week after an attack of flu,
Mrs. Marvin Smith injured her
ankle when her car slid off the road
at north' end of -village last Sunday
due to icy conditions.
Eldon McClenaghan is spending
a few days at his parental home
prior to writing his final examina-
tions for this term at Queen's
'University, Kingston.
Church and Sunday School servic-
es at Dungannon United Church
had to be cancelled on Sunday due
to furnace problems.
Rev. R. C. McClenaghan attend-
ed a meeting of Summer Camp
officials in Clinton on Wednesday
night and was storm stayed at the
home 'of Rev. Oestreicher until
Friday morning along with four
committee members from Goderich
area.
The unseasonable storm that
struck this area caused many
school cancellations, including
Brookside. It is very unusual to
have .thunder and lightning during
a snowstorm.
Dungannon Youth Group, held a
meeting at the church on Wednes-
day evening and went on to Sharon
Dawson's to share pizza.

Pine River Church on Sunday. •
Miss Joan Ferguson spent the
week end with Mr. and Mrs. Lester
