Ripley Curling News
By Don McLay
Last Monday saw the completion ,
of the playoffs for the Mixed and
Men's draw at the . Club. Jim and
Marie MacDonaI4, curling with
Bert and Sally Enamertmi took the
Mixed draw final besting the rink.
of Don and Barbara Paquette
assisted by Ed Fink and Donalda
Pollard. The Men's draw, repres-
enting the club championship and
winner's of the John. Bell Trophy,
was won by skip • Ron Farrell,
curling with Norman Barnard,
Cecil Humphrey and Jim Scott.
Ron's rink triumphed over 'Harry
Scott's rink, which had Bob
Johnston, Ed Fink and Elmer
Smeltzer. An interesting point to
note, and indicative of the close-
ness of play, was that in each case,
the games were tied commencing
the final tenth end. Ron Farrell's
rink earned the right to represent
the Ripley Curling Club in Division
13 playoffs at Owen Sound Grey
Granite Club in Owen Sound.
