TIN 59 Mr. and Mrs. Calvin McKay of Windsor were callers in Town on Tuesday of this week. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Keane, Brian and Arlene of Bancroft were Easter visitors in Lucknow with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. G. Hunter and Mr. and Mrs. James Keane. Miss Hazel Petts of Blytliwas a visitor the past week in Lucknow with Mr. And Mrs. E. W. Rice. The Lucknow Women's Institute will meet on Monday, April 7th in the Town Hall for a smorgasbord dinner at 12.30. Annual meeting. Members please do not forget your dishes and cutlery. Visitor's over the Easter week end with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Struthers of R. R. 1 Lucknow were Mrs. Annie Swan, David Swan and Miss Susan Swan of Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. Richard teenders of London; Doug Struthers of Kincar- dine; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Struthers, Cindy and Sharon, Mrs. Marion Donais and Mrs. Meg Salkeld and Blaine of Lucknow. David and Paul West, sons of Major and Mrs. Lorne E. West of Ottawa, along with their grand- mother, Mrs. J. A. West of Don Mills, spent a few days of the winter break with Mr. and Mrs. James Nelson of R. R. 7 Lucknow. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. McDonald of Lucknow and their daughter Marg- aret of Sarnia visited over the week end with Dr. and Mrs. John M. McDonald and family of London at the Sutton Park Inn, Kincardine, where they were spending a few days.. Mr. and Mrs. McDonald also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Graham McDonald and family in London. . Mr. and .Mrs. Ted Collyer, Chris and Lisa of Meaford;,Mr. and Mrs. Thom Collyer, Scott and Karen of Orangeville; Mr. and Mrs. Tim Collyer of Aliston visited Easter week end in Lucknow with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Collyer. Mr. and Mrs. Don Thompson, Susan, . Nancy and Donalda of Lucknow spent the Easter week end with Dr. and Mrs. Fraser Ashton, Antoine and Stefanie at Lucerne, Quebec. While there they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Al Irwin and family of Aylmer, Quebec. Mr. and Mrs. Ross McDonagh of Ottawa were also visiting the Irwin family. The Thompsons, while at a Museum in Ottawa, 'by chance met Mr. and Mrs. Gary Suter (Ruth Treleaven) of Ottawa. Enroute to Lucerne the Thompsons visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ron Rothwell at Norwood. Mrs. Evan Keith Speaks On Metric System On Tuesday, March 25 at 8 p.m., Mr. and Mrs. Cliff MacMillan' and family of St. Catharines were Easter visitors with his parents Mr. and Mrs. J. L. MacMillan, Lucknow. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver McCharles of Lochalsh and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Phillips of Belfast returned• home the first of the week from a .17-day holiday in Florida where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Omar Brooks at Ft. Lauderdale. Mr. and Mrs. Brooks left for their home in Lucknow the early part of the week. The McCharles' and Phillips' attended the 50th anniver- sary of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee and exper- ienced some of the severe flooding in that state which caused the Opry to be moved from its normal location to another auditorium. Margie and David Noble John- ston of Willowdale were holiday visitors in Lucknow with their grandparents Mr. and Mts. Noble Johnston. in the Lucknow Town Hall, nine members of the .Jr. Women's Institute, met for the monthly meeting. The past president. Mary Nelson presided over the, meeting as June Alton was unable to be present. They opened the meeting with the Mary Stewart Collect. Mary introduced the guest • for the evening, Mrs. Evan Keith. Each member answered the roll call with a suitable number for the program at the Pinecrest Nursing Home. Nancy Brown read the minutes of the last meeting and also gave the treasurer's report. The group discussed the correspondence with some important dates such as a Nutrition Workshop being held on April 10 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. in Ripley Town Hall, spring meeting on April 19 and an invitation to all to attend the afternoon program of the 4-H Achievement Day for Let's Bake Bread being held on May 10 at the Lucknow Public School. Mrs. Evan Keith gave a most interesting talk on the Metric System which all will be using soon. After her informative talk, each person received pamphlets to read at home. The meeting closed with lunch.
